Dave W (and Dave B and Jeff): Sorry for not being clearer. Posting via smartphone sometimes forces brevity! I didn't mean for us to leave THIS SECOND, just that it was about (that is, nearly) time to leave. And making sure we get a 10-minute rest definitely takes priority. We should prepare to leave shortly, though.

I think the confusion is mine Jeff.
I thought Belarin was indicating that we were outta here now. But if Belarin's for it then I'll take a rest now and ask for a Healing Surge...

I agree. We should rest long enough for at least one more healing surge.

Dang, I just looked this up recently, too. We're supposed to go to...Cross?....and Larest said that he would have Starg out in the street looking for us.

I was going to just look up where the lodgings were, but I thought it would be more in character for Shorak to have forgotten. Especially, with all that he's just been through.

Okay, we just came from an attempt on Shorak's life; very specifically his life. And now we have a safe-ish room; so who do we send out for a sewing kit???
Are we mental?

Damn. I may have blown an opportunity. I probably should have had Kal ask where the Eye of Azalar is. I mean, how's that for heroics and sacrifice and all? Giving up on knowing about your destiny to serve a greater good (or something)? Sheesh! But, I'm not going to go and change my post. I answered the way Kal would answer which is instinctual and often without fully thinking things through. Kal and I have a tremendous gift for hindsight.

Darren, I would reached through the screen and slapped Kal silly if he had asked something OTHER than his destiny. He's been thinking about this for a long time, and now he has a golden opportunity -- literally! -- to get answers. We can find info about the Eye in more mundane ways. But yes, to mentally berate himself afterward sounds very much like a Kal thing to do.

If Adamant were asked he would tell Kal that the Eye is more properly the Professor's quest. You have destiny that's bigger than that and an opportunity to move further towards that... you'd be crazy to waste it on the Eye.
That's Adamant's opinion anyway.

You know, I'm beginning to think my post got lost in the shuffle. I'm still awaiting a response from Rinti.
Unless Jeff thinks I can wait, which I can most assuredly can do. ;D

Nahh, no roll for that sort of thing needed. Belarin's no seamstress, but he can surely do a half-decent job.

I see I've left Belarin, Adamant, and Shorak unattended for too long. They're getting punchy.
I blame Belarin mostly, though.

We're exhausted and drunk. OK, maybe Adamant isn't drunk... maybe he's just lonely. But yeah, if the clothes are mended, then I think it might be a good time for Shorak to return the sewing kit... and perhaps see if the woman's companions are interested in fishing for more details about us and our map.

And so you all don't think I've abandoned my posts, I'm having Condign stand pat outside the Temple as he waits for Kal and Streko. Though I feel we should perhaps consider pulling ourselves together soon and head back to failed professor. What do you all say?

I'm all for that. It seems we've checked off the basics from our separate to-do lists, even if some of the results or discoveries didn't quite match our characters' hopes.

Just FYI, I'm waiting for Kal's response before commencing with Team K.
Team B...if you want to hold out a little longer, the three groups can be reunited fairly soon. But if you do want to interact with anyone else, just say so.

Sorry, I've been really busy lately. Also, I'm not really sure what to say. I'm kind of frustrated by the whole encounter and not sure where to go with it.

Well I was about to go find an artificer to ask about warforged penises, but I can wait. Darren, you could try the truth... "I'm usually better with words but your presence... The size of this moment... I can't think what to ask... I humbly through myself on your mercy, if there is anything you could tell a soul as woefully at sea in a storm... " That sort of thing.

I can't emphasize enough how this isn't a linear campaign. I don't want to just tell everyone what adventures to take, which adventure hooks are the "real" ones, and so on. The dragon can't/won't simply tell Kal what his full destiny is. He is giving him advice on how to figure that out for himself*.
For himself. That's key. You can't just whine until I cave in and tell you what you're supposed to do, you know?
If it helps, think of Morpheus's words from the Matrix: "...there's a difference between knowing the path, and walking the path." That's oversimplifying, of course, but it's the right idea.
*And oh yeah, he just dropped a very big clue.

I've reread the dragon post of last. Darren, I get the impression that Kal's destiny may involve preventing the Eye from either being found, or someone else (Krez, Larest, who knows) from getting it. I also think our next step is to get an invitation to this party and see what we can see.
Either way, I believe the Eye is our path, not just Kal's.
