That's what I picked up from the conversation as well. Considering this is a DRAGON we are talking to, I never suspected we would be told "directly" what to do.
This is a busy time for us all. Two of the probation oficers in my office are gone for the entire month for training. Which means the other three of us are kinda doubling our work (I am tripling my workload, as I am covering for the other two who are here and they are each covering for one of the training POs).
Three more weeks. That's what I tell myself.
Also trying to write a screenplay, which oddly enough is going much better now that I have NO time than it was when I had a LOT of time.
Sigh.

What Joe said. The dragon was never going to come right out and say, "Your destiny lies here...." But the dragon did pretty much say, "You know, I may not be able to tell you what path to walk on, but it might be a REALLY GOOD IDEA if you tried to get an invite to this shindig. Nudge nudge wink wink."
Jeff: Team B is all set to move on now that we've gotten things, um, sewn up. I believe I can safely speak for Dave and Dave and say that, after about an hour's rest in the room (and appropriate makeup application!), the trio is ready to get back on the move. If the other adventuring group from the Silver Flame wants to ask us questions, sure, we'll gladly deal with that. If they don't, Belarin is content that the seeds have been planted.

I never expected that. That's not really the point. I'll attempt to express it in character at some point soon.

Jeff: Team B is all set to move on now that we've gotten things, um, sewn up. First insert groan at the terrible pun (why are puns always rated by how terrible they are?). But, yes Adamant is leaning against the door humming some old tune, waiting for the cue to move.

If things weren't so crazy busy, I'd probably have Shorak climbing the walls, just for practice.
But, yes, Shorak is ready go get his money and open that account.

Psst... Darren, Kal isn't dying. He can still speak, and he can make a save. Dave W: You might've missed it in Dave B's post, but it looks like Forgelight is the place to go!

I'm aware. I don't actually expect Kal to die at this point.
"She doesn't get eaten by the eel at this time." "What." "The eel. It doesn't get her. I was explaining because you looked worried." "I wasn't worried. Well, maybe I was a bit...concerned. But that's not the same thing."

I'm going to assume that Kal will stay quiet until either Jeff posts something else for Kal and Streko or until the group finds them in the Jorasco enclave.

Nice post, Darren. But just so I'm clear before posting, Kal wasn't inviting Belarin, Shorak, and Adamant to follow him, was he? It seems like his momentary pause was a hint to Belarin, i.e. "We're staying in Cross." I took his orders to follow as being directed only at Condign and Rinti. Correct?

For me, I took this line to indicate Kal wanting the others to follow: "Now, if you will take us to Cross," Kal glances over his shoulder at Belarin, then turns back to Rinti, "we must get to our lodgings." Hence, my post about expecting us all to proceed to Cross. Then again, perhaps it was a come hither look. The dragon's breath could've changed Kal's perspectives some. Okay, Darren. What did you mean, exactly?

That's exactly how it was meant. Cross was our designated meeting point. Kal is basically saying, "We need to talk. Let's meet up there."

That's okay. Kal was being "subtle". If the players didn't understand, there's no reason to expect the characters to understand, either.

In case it's not obvious from my post, Belarin is considering the possibility that the two burned men are the two archers who, ah, quickly left the roof of Shorak's building... at a speed approaching Escape Velocity.
Maybe yes. Maybe no. But time for the three of us to beat feet.

I'm not so sure about these guys being at the our fire... For one thing, if they were looking for us, you'd think their less crispy friends would recognize us. But also, that trap seemed like it was aimed at Shorak specifically. Do the emerald claws have a reason to be after him?
I still think our fire is gang-related.
It's also possible that the burned guys aren't with the claws. That the claws came across them and are doing a good deed here.
What would be exceedingly pleasant is if our seeding of the "Vampires are coming! Vampires are coming!" has had the effect that someone decided to fireball or burning hands any vampire-related people they run into....

Dave: Yep, I've been wondering also whether the injured guys are Claw soldiers, hirelings, or passersby. Jeff's text described them as "comrades" of the soldiers, but it's unclear if they were wearing uniforms. (Jeff?) In any event, best to leave in case one of the guys wakes up and points at Shorak. As for your last point... oooooh, I like that!

The wounded men also had Claw armor and uniforms. If that helps.
