The plan sounds good, Ken, except maybe for the getting mugged part, now. If Belarin wants to try to get the attention of the Coin Lords, wouldn't losing the map be a problem? It might be better to hold onto it until after the following night. Oh duh. Yeah, that's right. I had forgotten about that part of it. That's if Nerrin can even get in the event.... OK, we'll delay the obligatory mugging until tomorrow evening. Jeff: No, Belarin is attempting to finish both maps now, if there's time to do so, of course. If not, let me know.

Sorry guys I disappeared for awhile again... Adamant will gladly play Redoubt again.... He would like to visit the artificer when we get a chance.

So no getting into any fights now, okay? Everyone got that? Everyone on their best behavior, okay?

Okay, here's what I think:
- Belarin, Shorak and Adamant head over to Bogwater. - Kal, Condign and Streko head out maybe 20 minutes later and meet up with them there. - If Sem is willing, he can also head over there and observe from a separate area to see if anyone is paying attention. - When we get there, Shorak should set up somewhere where he can observe the room. - Kal will make his entrance, and then he and Nerrin can argue about the validity of Nerrin's map for a while. - Kal will eventually tell Nerrin that he will consider buying this worthless piece of junk and give him an answer tomorrow. Nerrin can storm out with his group. Kal will stay behind for a little while and loudly discuss with Streko how he thinks there's really something to this map and they are just trying to drive the price down. - Belarin's group can head back to Cross, and Kal will follow later.
- Rinti, if she is willing, should stay behind with Starg.

That sounds perfect, Darren! Everyone: Belarin will have chosen to finish Map #2 first ( described here). It's the more "jungle-y" region and the one that he's given the big fey treatment to ( based on Sem's recommendation). Of the two maps, that's the one which Belarin feels may have a slightly better chance of success.

Jeff, how late is it, and how much longer will Belarin need to finish his map?

That all sounds fine with me.

By the time the fey-based map is ready, it'd be about the tenth bell in the evening.

I agree to the plan, but no promises on avoiding fights; Adamant is pretty belligerent after all.

Jeff: Given my imminent departure, Condign could stay behind and play cribbage with Larest. That may speed up your gameplay.

Cribbage, eh? That's what tieflings and geezers are into, eh? How about during this episode, Condign has security detail (as you hinted at in the main thread)?

Security detail outside the Bogwater? That's fine, as long as Big Red isn't ambushed by an otyugh or anything.

I love that Adamant is playing a sassy butler, like Mr. Belvedere or something. Actually I was channelling a younger version of Sir John Gielgud from Arthur ("May I wash your thingy sir?"). But maybe that is Mr Belvedere, I've just never watched that show. (funny, I pasted this in and it turned the word "dick" into "thingy"... Will it do it again?) (nope, let it through that time... Maybe the quotes helped?")

Kal's got a lot to say to this punk, but I'm going to give Ken the chance to interject, first.

Time for a bit of strategy, gentlemen.
Ken, your original plan was to let the map get stolen, right? So the question before us now is, do we allow it to get stolen, and then rely on Belarin's second map to be our bait for the Coin Lords, claiming that, OF COURSE he didn't bring the ACTUAL map with him to the meeting? Or does Kal rush over with Streko and Condign and fight for 'his' map? Six versus two seems like decent odds, unless they have reinforcements hiding somewhere.

Within reason, of course. Strategizing here is a good counter to the inherent difficulties of play-by-post combat. But let's not go so far as to make it as if all PCs had telepathy with one another. But what you're saying is fine. This is more of a general dilemma you're addressing.

Yup. I was trying to work within the general limits that I know you like to play by, Jeff. If the line is crossed, you let us know.

Belarin is aware of Kal's closing instruction regarding keeping the map available for the Coin Lords, and as he's said IC, this map is likely to be the better of the two. For those reasons, he'd prefer to hold on to it. And as far as he is concerned, this is playing out perfectly... a blatant attempt to steal the map is sure to increase its value! Moneymoneymoney! ;D
The tricky thing will be avoiding/defeating the wizard without too much force. Otherwise, that might dissuade other bad types who'd be afraid of taking on that collective firepower.

I was thinking the same, that this is a good thing assuming we don't get killed...
I'm maybe paranoid but i doubt all those P's on the map are innocents... It's just not common for a wizard to risk solo combat.
Adamant will post in a bit.... In-laws are up for a visit

Bear with me guys. I'm racing on a couple of tight deadlines, plus starting a new chapter in DE takes a little bit of work. Give me a couple days?

Understood. I believe that there's a good deal of prep going on for the Foreshadows booth at Gen Con in (gulp) two and a half weeks....
