Kal's currently carrying about 465 gp in various denominations. I'd carry more, but we don't have all that much to be able to withdraw. It occurs to me that most of what we want to buy is probably out of reach, but I really have no idea how much things cost.

Don't forget the payment coming from the professor. Shorak is getting 1,000 gold. You should negotiate for more per person, since you were basically shanghaied.

I was going to ask for 20 gold. Shows you what kind of big spender I am.

Team KWhen the dwarf looks expectantly at him, Condign opens his mouth, but then pauses. He looks at his friends. "The Gaash'kala are a humble brotherhood. Arms and armor are what we know. Wealth of any amount is unheard of, and my experience is . . . limited." Looking embarrassed, he adds, "I do not know how much to ask for." For a bank withdrawal, I recommend just agree on a small amount that you'd like to each have on hand, and leave the rest. Now that you've been to the Kundarak vault, if you have to make a purchase in the city that exceeds what you've got on you, I'll just hand-wave this and we'll just deduct from the amount still in the vault. Essentially, you'll arrange for payment that way. Same is true for if you sell anything. Good idea. So, Kal, how much do you think we should have "on hand?"

I think Kal might be carrying enough for now. Again, I have no concept of what things cost. Darren, a good starting point for you would be to look at the rituals Kal knows and look at the cost of its material components.

Wow. Stuff is expensive.
Just so I'm sure of things, platinum is worth 100 gp, right?

Yup.
A gold piece is worth 10 silver pieces, and a silver piece is worth 10 copper pieces. A platinum piece is worth 100 gold pieces.

Yeah, I was looking at that and realizing that Kal could probably use 100-200 gp worth of components. I don't think we'll be buying much else. Turns out we're not nearly so rich as I hoped.

Not complaining, Jeff. Just realizing the reality is not quite what I thought it was.
As for stuff to sell...I don't know. I looked through Kal's list, and I don't really see much there that he's picked up beyond things like Gurend's book and Alvek's satchel and dagger. I mean, I guess I could sell off the sunrods that he never uses/has no use for.
Are other people carrying extra stuff?

Are other people carrying extra stuff? Belarin has a vial of Alvek ir'Turian's congealed blood. Does that count? He's probably saving it as a romantic gift for Histra. He also has several rings that he removed from Lady ir'Turien way back when, but only one of them was magical, and he's wearing it. The other two could be sold for cash, if necessary. That's about it for sellable stuff.

All I would have is the sword that Kal bought Condign--you're welcome to have it back to sell if you want, Darren. Other than that, I have a wand that I don't use often, thought I'm not sure if that's something I should sell just now.

You can always tell it's combat time when Ken's posts are more pink than white.

Don't think that doesn't occur to me every single combat! I'm a contingency-and-details player by nature. Combine that with warlocks' zig-zag-and-bamf style and you get Pink Overload.

How does the oil affect powers that allow you to move X # of squares? That will have a huge impact on what Shorak does next.

Does it affect powers that allow you shift?

Sorry, I should have been specific about that. You can basically move just fine along the oil: it just eats up 2 squares of movement to keep from slipping. It doesn't affect shifting at all.

Well, Mr. DM, if we HAD a moment of game time to sit and actually examine stuff...and our real-life selves remembered we had stuff to examine...we probably would. I am not even sure what Streko has in that bag of his any more. Histra's grandfather maybe? Wouldn't that please Belarin? :-) I don't know, Joe. I can't help you there. Items and inventory have been accessible for a long, long time. This game isn't exactly a speeding bullet.

The "if we had a moment of game time" had to be a joke, right, Joe? I mean, both in character and certainly out, the ability to examine our stuff hasn't exactly been limited. And Jeff routinely posts "Item X has been added to Character X's inventory" when we get stuff, so I guess you're referring to something else...?

By the way, I'm experimenting with a new, spreadsheet-based version of the character sheets. Trying out with Kal's, since that Google doc got all its formatting wiped at some point.
I think you'll like this layout. Makes keeping track of gear and weight and money easier, I'd say. Still a work-in-progress, though.

I'll post IC later tonight. But I'll preview it by saying a) Belarin doesn't trust the "helpful" voice, and b) leaving the burning building might be a good option... Jeff: In the meantime, can you tell us what is on the west side of the building? Say, if Belarin or Adamant were to open the door on the west side of the hallway, what would that apartment's windows face?

Darren: It's still a work-in-progress. I won't grant you access until it's basically ready. So no, nothing's changed for you yet.
Ken: No other building borders the tenement on the west. Those apartment windows on that side would face the street and the giant statue head that serves as a partial support.

I'll wait until Ken posts. But, if Belarin tells Shorak to get out, he's currently in a good position to run down the stairs. Otherwise, he would really like to bury his sword in the glyph scarred guys heart.

Darren, to answer your question, no, we're not going to roleplay through the buying or selling of magic items or materials. But I do want to give you the basics of where it happens. Stay tuned. I'll get to it today.

Jeff: I edited my last post to account for the possibility that the extra movement from the Action Point could interfere with Belarin's standard action.
Also, considering Dave W's limited ability to post at the moment, could you let him know whether the imp (which precedes Adamant) follows Belarin? Knowing beforehand whether or not the imp is still adjacent to Adamant will likely clarify Dave's options. Thanks!

The imp will not necessarily be following Belarin into the apartment, which isn't to say that Belarin can't target it with his attack. But by the time Adamant's turn comes up, it also might not be visible.

Joe, if you want to copy and paste what Streko is carrying here, we can assess what might not be needed anymore.

Nice, Joe. FYI, though: The arm is no longer in the haversack. Belarin gave it to Histra as soon as we got back to the Patriot that day. Histra has since turned the clawed hand into an accessory for her staff.
