No question mark was on purpose. She's stating it imperatively, but it's like tossing the idea out there to see what kind of reaction it gets. Sort of like when someone says to a woman they just met, "So, your boyfriend must be wondering what you are..." (trying to find out if they're single).

Jeff, has Belarin been able to open or peer into the window yet? Or was the scene with Shorak and Thug #1 happening while he was still approaching the building?

Sigh. I suppose I'm not going to get an answer to Condign's question, be it the one I asked in game, or the reminder I posted OOC.

I'm just putting in a vote for trying to not get distracted. We clearly should come back to the mystery of Shorak's appartments, but can we put a pin in it until we move a bit further with the elves. Plus I need to get that scroll case before someone "accidentally" spills Adamant's internal fluids all over the Cyrian note... I'm just sayin'.

I think we're all on the same page there, Dave! By the way, Jeff, I like how you've incorporated a few House Deneith elements from Marcy's novel The Shard Axe.

Though...in truth I pull most of the material (the stuff I don't make up myself) from Eberron sourcebooks. Marcy's version of Stormreach is a sort of hybrid between canon Eberron and DDO Eberron (which I think of as Eberron lite, among other things). But yeah, I'm trying to integrate all sources when I can.

Jeff, I've looked through older posts, and before Belarin gives his story to the elves, I just want to confirm something, since it's been a while in real time: Lerrhana said that she plans to hide out in Stormreach, possibly aided by Syrdan? As far as we know, she's off the Merrow Down, correct? Histra said that her Stormreach relatives may be able to shield Lerrhana from Krez's ability to detect her, but we have no reason to think that Lerrhana will accept the offer to hide out among a bunch of necromancers.

Correct. With Syrdan's help, she intended to hide in the city for a time. To basically lay low while determining her next move, off ship. Belarin's not even sure Lerrhana was told that Histra's family could help.

Great, charactery posts lately, guys. I'll get back to Team K as soon as I can. I've been all day at the Brooklyn Strategist and will be heading out again in the morning for somewhere else. But I'll see if I can get things moving again soon.

Remind me precisely what supplies Belarin is looking for. Map-making stuff, right? Special inks, etc.? Anything else? That's it. Pretty much anything to assist with the creation of old-looking, "authentic" maps.

"Whatever they are doing," says Condign, "I hope they do it away from us. See those multiple arms? And the claws on the feet? Too many attacks to defend against at once. It would be a hard fight." I just have to say that I love this simple post and want to buy it flowers. After he examines a fountain featuring sculptures of an insectoid race, Condign's first thought is to consider their capacity as a martial threat. That's freakin' perfect. NICE, Brian.

FYI: Remember in Sharn, we established that the majority of the party's gold was pooled and placed in the Kundarak vault (and is represented in my signature below). I believe this was considered "everyone's," but this was before Adamant and then Shorak joined the group.
It's up to you guys who can claim any of this. I assume you'll just work it out. As long as you make a stop at the bank sooner than later, we won't worry too much about carrying out individual withdraw amounts. If you visit a shop in Stormreach, it'll be considered that you've got whatever money you need from the vault.

I don't see a problem with the existing pool extending to the new members. That said, guys, it's been a long time since we've really gained any money. We need to start charging people for our services.

And until now, you haven't necessarily even needed or had a good opportunity to buy anything. That's about to change.
If ou go to the bank first, it'd probably be easier.

Not quite. Just saying...if you indicate that the group is going to the bank, and everyone has their identification papers...well then just wait and see what happens.

Jeff, I'm trying to get a better image of the building's layout before Belarin responds to Adamant.
Is it set up like a typical apartment building, where there's a main stairwell either in the middle of the floor or at the end of a hallway?
If the answer is yes, then the new arrival downstairs could charge right past the floor we're on if he intends to meet with the guy above us. It would also likely mean that if he steps off the stairwell on our floor, then he's probably heading for Shorak's apartment.

I'm actually putting together a map right now. That'll help.
Whether I have time to post it and make a regular post before I run off today, I don't know yet...

Team KWhen the dwarf looks expectantly at him, Condign opens his mouth, but then pauses. He looks at his friends. "The Gaash'kala are a humble brotherhood. Arms and armor are what we know. Wealth of any amount is unheard of, and my experience is . . . limited." Looking embarrassed, he adds, "I do not know how much to ask for." For a bank withdrawal, I recommend just agree on a small amount that you'd like to each have on hand, and leave the rest. Now that you've been to the Kundarak vault, if you have to make a purchase in the city that exceeds what you've got on you, I'll just hand-wave this and we'll just deduct from the amount still in the vault. Essentially, you'll arrange for payment that way. Same is true for if you sell anything.
