I believe I used Intimidate on our last skill challenge. We had to convince some Aundairian royalty to aid us. I described a ghastly scenario that would happen if they didn't help us; it wasn't something I or the others would do to them, but what would happen if they didn't help us prevent it.

Dave W: Yeah, to follow up on that, Adamant could use Intimidate to hint at what might happen if the dwarves don't go along and seize on the map first. "Hasn't that arrogant Deneith heir been pestering Nerrin about having a meeting? Gee, Nerrin, just meet with this Deneith guy and get it over with!"

Yup, you can use Intimidate in creative ways. You don't have threaten the dwarves with bodily harm...the threat doesn't necessarily have to be against them to get the message across. But, one caveat, the threat does have to suggest that it's Adamant's that's worth being afraid of. He can't redirect the threat as coming from someone else. It's tricky, to be certain. Intimidate is sort of combination of physical body language and verbal threats. Don't get too hung up on this, though, guys. If you fail the challenge, it's not the end of the road. Just a possible missed opportunity that can still lead to others. This isn't a convince-the-duke-to-let-you-free-or-it's-the-gallows-for-you sort of skill challenge. Dave B: At least Shorak's generally had better skill rolls than attack rolls. I think the Dice Roller knows the difference.

I'm keen to give it a go. It's just tricky. I don't want to make an enemy, I'm fine with it not working... I know I'm holding Team B up, but work was slapping me around the last day or two... I'll get something up tonight...

Yeah, Dave, I think Adamant's intimidate is the way to go. I still can't come up with a creative way to use Shorak's thievery skill in relation to the conversation. Just feeling a little blocked creatively the last couple of days. Sorry.

Well done, Dave! Even if the roll itself wasn't good, that's an A+ for effort!

Streko looks back at Kalarian and bows low. "...my own...careless bumblings..." He turns back to face Huru, looking directly into her eyes. " I meant bumblings. It's all good. It's one of Streko's endearing traits.

Darren:
Actually, Darren, that never occurred to me until you wrote it. My intention was to hint "the son of a (d'Deneith noble)."
But on second thought . . . . ;D

Okay, I just checked Condign's little money pouch and moths flew up when I opened it. I must be missing something during the looting process, because I have exactly 6 silver and 8 copper. I guess I haven't opened up my yap and claimed any coin. In other words, I'm broke.

"Well," he says impatiently. "Does it make my head look fat?"Seriously you should warn a person... I was in the middle of drinking... very nearly aerosoled it.

By the way, I don't intend to roleplay every moment of when you guys travel the streets of Stormreach. But as you're just getting to know the place, and things are going on, I'm taking it slow right now.
Just didn't want you to think every hour of in-game time will be like this. Even shopping for goods will go faster once you're settled in.

It took me a moment to figure this out. The fountain isn't actually floating. The wording was unclear: the outer wall around the fountain reaches up from the ground to two feet above the ground. That's all that mean.

Streko eyes the symbol. "That, my friends, is the symbol of Kol Korran, the Sovereign of World and Wealth." He turns to Rinti and places a hand on her shoulder. "The God of Trade and Commerce." His gaze turns toward the war-forged sitting on the steps. "Interesting to see a servant of Dol Dornn holding vigil there. Perhaps he is awaiting a collegue praying inside." Have to admit, I'm a little confused, Joe. The symbol on the temple is that of the Sovereign Host's, in general. Not specific to Kol Korran... Wasn't sure where you were getting that. Though, yes, of course a temple devoted to the Host as a whole will include a shrine to Kol Korran, just as it will to Olladra.

I refer to FAITHS OF EBERRON, Page 31. I assume the only difference between The Sovereign Host and Kol Korran is that KKs appears as if on a gold octogram shaped coin? As I did not see a GENERIC symbol for the Host in that book, I assumed it was meant as a temple for KK. My confusion was further exaserbated by the fact that The Dark Six DOES have a generic all-in-one symbol displayed in the FoE book (Page 38), even though the SH doesn't.

I appreciate the homework, Joe! I can see your confusion. But when it comes to recognizing religious symbols, especially the Host, just leave it to me. I'll identify it for you right in my post. Streko would know it all. I'll be back to posting again today, guys. Thanks for waiting. The last 3 days have been filled to the rafters.

Hey, Jeff. Since Bereschel had looked "curiously" at Condign twice, I had asked her if there was news about tielfings in Stormreach. I don't know if the question got lost in the flurry of posts, or if she's purposefully being quiet about it. Just thought I'd ask.

Similarly, Jeff, Kal's last comment was really in response to your syntax. You didn't put a question mark at the end of Bereschel's statement, and I wasn't sure if that was intentional or not.....
