Hey, guys. See anyone you recognize here? By Paul's own words almost three months ago, "Would it be possible to play one of my characters from Night of Long Shadows? I'm thinking Cutter as he could start off as a low level fighter or something similar....This could be an alternate Cutter." So what I'm sayin' is, you should totally check out Paul's book, #2 in the [stand-alone] series, which is coming out in May. ;D Oh, and how kick-ass is that cover?

I've been to two book stores and have yet to find "Bound By Iron"... I wanted to actually get it in-store, but I may have to resort to Amazon...
But yes, I'll definitely be picking this one up too!

HEY, all. I wanted to post about this- it's not Eberron related, but you all are pretty darn creative, and I am always looking for creative people for my projects. I just posted guidelines for an open call submission to my new zine, HEY Quarterly. We've just published our second issue and are looking for submissions to the third. You can find the guidelines on our website: www.heyquarterly.comThe idea is art, design, photos, stories, essays, songs, audio, and whatever- based around a loose theme. It takes the form of a 66-page zine, web content, and a monthly podcast. So far I've had a lot of fun putting these together, and I hope the few people who have picked them up so far like them. Also of note, 100% of the proceeds from each issue go to charity. Just because it's good to give. I'm inviting any and all of you to submit, as well as anyone you know who might be interested. So spread the word, whip up something fun, and help some people in need at the same time! Thanks for listening to me blather.

Well, I am headed to Barcelona in a few weeks, so it seemed appropriate.
Oh, and to all- I've started reading the Eberron "The Inquisitives" book Bound By Iron and am enjoying it. If anyone wants a pulpy supplement to our DE game, it might be worth your while. That is, if I'm not the last person to be checking this stuff out.
I have to pick of Paul's book before I head to Spain. Need some plane reading!

Josh...just finished Bound by Iron a couple days ago...working on Jim Butcher's Death Mask now...will follow that up with Paul's Night of the Long Shadows...follow that up with Jonathan King's The Blue Edge of Midnight and then, Marcy Rockwell's Legacy of Wolves. In case it isn't clear, I kinda like Noir fiction....

As may have been guessed, Paul is no longer with us....errr....in this game. Yes, he's sadly had to duck out. Poor guy is working on another WotC novel with a short deadline, the TV day job, and he wants to be working on his own novel. Poor, poor guy. So. Yeah. That said, this doesn't mean Cutter's disappearance is just an inexplicable disappearing act. It's entirely in the story, has an explanation (somewhere), and there is still room for his return...if Paul wishes it someday.

Well, that's too bad for us! But that's cool- busy can be very good.
I just picked up Night of the Long Shadows yesterday, so I'll get my Cutter fix that way.

Greetings.
I thought maybe we should all give a shout-out to Jeff for putting together what has so far been a spectacular mystery-slash-adventure, into which he obviously put a lot of his time, and he's already crazy busy to begin with.
I know everyone genuinely appreciates his work both in preparing this adventure and in running it (and in dealing with all of us! Not a fate I'd wish on my worst enemy...har har), but I think it would be cool if we all let him know we appreciate it and are enjoying it.
Well that, and I'm trying to curry an extra miracle saving throw or two...maybe some more XP on the side... ya know...[/color]
So send him a message/e-mail and give him some props. Word to the DM.

Just finished Paul's book. Good stuff. Just out of curiousity, is our adventure meant to take place before or after the events of the book?

So drop Paul a line and tell him! p.crilley@gmail.com (Or better still, maybe put a brief review of it on Amazon...)
Our game takes place in the month of Rhaan, which is like September. The holiday known as Long Shadows is the very end of the year, end of Vult (December). All this in the year 998 YK (Year of the Kingdom).

Paul's book is the very next one in line for me to read. I am finishing up Andrew Vachss novel FLOOD, which is very noirish (I like!) and dark...it is part of the research I am doing in preparing my first novel...so I need to slip one of these in between Inquisitive books (having read Ed Bolme's book last week and liking it a great deal). So, Paul's next...then research...then Marcy...by then, who knows? Maybe Jeff's book will be out?

Thanks, Joe. It's been fun but all-too-short, being in the middle of the week. We're going to take off some days in a couple of weeks for a getaway. Need to put some distance between us and NYC, methinks.

As you all should be well aware, we've just had a new player join the game. So I present to you Mr. Mike Ferguson (aka the Emerald Lich)! He co-wrote the Dungeon Crawl Classics campaign setting of Áereth along with me and Harley Stroh, and he's written a ton of adventure modules and other products for Goodman Games, Fantasy Flight Games, Paizo Publishing. He's done more actual adventure design that I ever have, so that makes it interesting to have him as a player in a game I'm DMing. ;D (Note to self: don't bother throwing bulettes, owlbears, or yuan-ti at Mike...he knows their tricks.) Fortunately, he's new to Eberron so there's plenty of surprises in store for him. Please make him welcome!
