Guys, when you next post, go ahead and add in a Religion check. Then I'll tell you what you know about ghouls. Ghouls. You're What's For Dinner. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/wink.png)

Should I bother with that, since I already made a previous one?

Belarin has seen the mysterious woman command undead to kill him before, and having heard her just tell the ghouls to eat the group, he's not waiting for the slavering undead to prove their nastiness. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Jeff, a question regarding interrupt powers....
If this were a tabletop game, when would you be able to decide you were using them? To be more specific, Kal's armor has an ability that lets him half the damage from a ranged or melee attack once per day. If this were a tabletop game, would I be able to decide to use that after damage gets rolled? Obviously, that being a daily power, I would want to be judicious about when it gets used and not waste it on something that's only doing 2 damage anyway. So how would that work in a real game, and how do we work that here?

I've thought about that before, Darren. In tabletop play, you'd be able to make that call the moment I told you the enemy hit you. Then, no matter the damage, it gets halved. Since that's not so easy in play-by-post, there's two ways we can do it:
(1) You leave it up to me. When I deem a pretty hard hit was made, I can automatically trigger it, in whatever way is most advantageous to you. Basically, I give you the benefit of the doubt.
(2) You give me a number or a window of damage, and it will kick in the first time on any given day whenever that amount of damage is levied against Kal.
What say you?

I think I'm okay with leaving it to your judgment. I mean, I guess the alternative would be for me to decide right after you post results, and then we just write the text going forward to adjust for it, but I don't know how badly that affects you in terms of mechanics. But like I said, I'm okay with leaving it to your judgment, too. I don't really have a good idea of what a lot of damage is, in general, but obviously if Kal got hit for 20 points, I'd want to half that. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

You folks do see that there are ghouls to each side of the room as well. There are 13 ghouls total.
We probably ought to stick together and not string out where we can get flanked. Plus, these guys are probably pretty fierce in melee but they'll have nothing ranged. Lets form up and let them come to us.
I'm just sayin'.

Plus, these guys are probably pretty fierce in melee but they'll have nothing ranged. Agreed. That's one reason Belarin wants to take out the apparition quickly. He has a nasty ranged attack (hopefully just an encounter power!), so he's the wild card in this mix.

I'll write Belarin's post tomorrow (getting ready for bed now), but damn... nice first round, players and DM! Great to finally see 4E's Turn Undead unleashed like that. And thanks, Jeff, for the shadow stuff surrounding Belarin ... very cool!

No worries. I think it's probably fine. Don't even bother. If Kal gets hit again, just use it then.

Jeff, I'd like to suggest, if possible, that you put status info after our hit points in your sig. Like this:
•• Adamant (53) 44 Belarin (44) 41 • Condign (46) 46 •• Kal (45) 37 - Immobilized •• Streko (43) 43 • Syrdan (48) 36 - Immobilized Tangat (22) 22 - Immobilized

Here's the thing about that, Dave. My signature can only have up to 400 characters. Currently it's at 327.
If every character had some condition, I probably wouldn't be able to fit them all on there. I suppose I could abbreviate. 'Imm' for 'immobilized' and such. I'll try it out. Isn't that looking a bit too jumbled?

Forgot to list it in the bullet items, but didn't forget to account for it. Adamant's Divine Challenge is the only reason the ghoul attacked him. It would have much preferred a juicy halfling or Deneith jerky to a tin man. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png)

Jeff, actually it IS just one damage roll, per page 271 of the PHB. I like that; it keeps things simpler with fewer rolls.
Yeesh, Belarin is in a pickle! Posting shortly.

Just a tip: if any of you have powers that grant an ally a saving throw, this is good time to maybe think about using them. For example, Belarin is immobilized, weakened, and dazed. Adamant and Syrdan are each immobilized...and there may be more. ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) A successful save at the end of your own turn can get rid of any effect, but it's good to get freebies elsewhere, too, right? I tried to remember everything this round, but I know I still might have missed something. Let me know. I need to come up with a good system for remembering everything in effect.
