A bit of a delay today...need to take Marisa to an impromptu doctor visit. Hopefully I'll check in later this morning. Hope everything's OK.

Some medicine, blood work, and even a CAT scan later and so far everything seems okay. Thanks for the well wishes.

I'm going to be out until sometime after 4-ish today (I think), and there's a whole bunch I want to say but don't really have the time right now to write it. I mentioned that I want a Sense Motive check, so when I get back late this afternoon, based on that, I'll continue things forward. Thanks!

We're out of town tomorrow and probably out of touch after 4PM today. One or both of us might be able to check in before we head out, but it's probably more realistic to expect updates from Pellorien and Oss on Sunday rather than Saturday.

I just got back from yet another dentist appointment. Finally got the crown fitted properly - yay! - and hopefully two Advil will minimize the pain and oddness in that part of my mouth right now. However, I now have to leave my cozy little workstation to go do some training for the new position whose responsibilities I'll be assuming in two weeks and whose actual title it looks like will be mine by GenCon if not sooner. Not quite the dream job, but it's being re-written for me. More yay!

I will not be posting after 5PM on Thursday. I will check in on Friday morning, but I will definitely not be reading or posting after 3PM on Friday -- probably until Monday morning. Family wedding.
Ed's availability is probably similar.

I love the idea of a tailored job. Even if it's not the best, you have to know it'll be challenging and worth your while to some extent. Yes, congrats on that.
But you'll still be in and around before 5pm on Thursday, Lara?

But you'll still be in and around before 5pm on Thursday, Lara? Yes. As you might guess, work is a little crazy right now, bouncing back and forth between both jobs, but I should be able to check in intermittently. I figured an early heads-up would help with any planning that needs to happen.

I will be in Barcelona from the 17-25 of June. I don't know exactly what my internet situation will be there, but it's safe to say I will be doing very little computer-related work during this time.
I've discussed with Jeff a way to put Grafth on "autopilot" so to speak, as I don't want to hold up the game. I assume you will want to keep playing next week- is this correct?

Maybe part of that time might call for a "vacation." Ed and I will be out of town June 22 through 27. I know that I will not have reliable Internet access during that time. He'll be at a conference for work, so it's hard to tell what kind of access he'll have or what he'll have time for.

I think when one person leaves, the game should definitely slow down a bit. When two or more leave, yeah, we can put a hold on things. For the rest, perhaps those would be good days for inter-party PC discussions...which can be optional separate threads that the absent players won't have to read when they come back. These could jsut be "Hey, we've been traveling together a bit now...fighting monsters and such. So...what do you do?" kinds of threads. Thoughts?

I agree that if several people are away, then anything that does get said should not be integral to the main story.

So based on the discussion above, since various players are disappearing for days at a time (starting at the end of today), here's a suggestion for you frequent posters: Assuming the current gameplay allows for it, strike up a conversation with another character (one who is more "present," of course) that's basically like taking them aside from wherever the group is at that moment. Use orange text to indicate this dialogue. That way when the absent players return, they'll know that the orange text stuff they needn't catch up on at all; they can skip it entirely, it's background noise for them. Since there are plenty of moments where time passes quickly, this kind of dialogue can help fill in the gaps. Realistically, people talk more during long stretches of time. Of course, if your character wants to say something more important to the rest of the group, don't use the orange text. Just say it normal. Thoughts? So to recap: White text is for regular actions, whether it's dialogue or whatever.
Green text, used only by the DM, is for information the others can read but is eclusive to only some characters.
Pink text, usually at the bottom, is for out-of-game stuff only.
And orange text can be used by players (possibly some NPCs) to indicate "side dialogue" that the main group doesn't have to read if they don't want to. Of course, if there's anything your character wishes to do or say that they don't want even the other players to know about, then let me know and we'll find another way.

We should probably let things be for the weekend, then. I'll be making one more post soon. Then let's all hold off until Sunday night. Sound all right?

If anyone else posts this weekend, I will post once before I leave, otherwise, there'll be a Grafth post once I'm in BCN.

Took a few minutes to post on Pellorien's behalf this evening since there really wasn't time to do so at work, even after I started a post in response to some of Grafth's indignance.
With the family event going on this weekend, I doubt that I will be checking back in before I get to work on Monday.

I'll try to get back to this later to see whether Pel's spell worked, but I've got a big deadline to meet, my boss is out this morning, the guy who's training me is also out -- it has the look of turning into a hectic day, moreso than expected. If the spell works, then my plan, such as it is, is to try to keep Taymra d'Orien talking 'til we feel we've got all the information we need from her and maybe some agreement -- for protection, supplies, whatever.

Ed and I will be out of town June 22 through 27. I know that I will not have reliable Internet access during that time. He'll be at a conference for work, so it's hard to tell what kind of access he'll have or what he'll have time for. Just a reminder. We're out of town until late Wednesday. I know that I won't have reliable Internet access during that time, so I most likely will not be back to the forum until Thursday morning (and I anticipate being insanely busy at work on Thursday but I'll try to get caught up and post at least once in the morning and again in the afternoon). I'm not sure what Ed will be doing, but it's probably safest not to count on him to have access during this trip. If he does find the means and time to post, then it'll be a nice surprise. Oh, he'll be incommunicado an extra day because of a second business trip, so he may not be back until late Thursday or early Friday.

Lara's given me the "okay" to sort of auto-pilot Pellorien and Oss in their absence, within guidelines. Even so, I'm going to try to keep things moving not too fast. Again, if you want any just jibber-jabber between characters, make the text orange (including the stuff not in quotes) so Ed & Lara know what they can skip over later.

OK, well, I returned to work after three days off to find that at least for the foreseeable future I'm working two jobs, bouncing back and forth between two offices, and generally having non-stop days. This should be a short-term situation. I just thought you should know.
