Yeah, I wasn't assuming that led to the wall. I thought that might actually be the dragon's Cave of Self....

Thus far you've not had any eyes even on the spot where the fire-stream intersects with the gate-wall. So you don't really know what that arrangement is.

Jeff, is Melethos close enough for Kal to use Message to talk to him?

Not quite. Even if Kal is at the front of the ship Mel is beyond 120 ft (by about 30 ft).

Brack says, "What's the plan? Anchor down, batten the hatches, and wait until we are all sufficiently rested? If so, we will certainly hold watches in cycles; many eyes lurk in this cavern. I propose three shifts: myself, Kurra, Calirataia, and Adamant will remain above, eyes alert, while the rest of you take what rest you need. Then, Kal, half of the rest of you take over, then the other half. Adamant, I trust you keep sentry throughout the....night?" I'm standing by for Kal as the expedition leader to weigh in. Brack proposed 1st ( Dragonfly crew), 2nd (half of PC party), and 3rd (other half of PC party) shifts to pass the "night," plus Adamant on around-the-clock watch. And then everyone just started picking preferred watches independent of that suggestion. So I just want to see what the party as a whole is really going to do.

I have adjusted my spell choices. I am taking Locate Object though I'm not sure we know a thing to locate yet. I also took Compel Duel which I should probably use more often.
Really, I'll probably use all my slots adding damage with Divine Smite... so it goes...

So Locate Object. Should Adamant cast it, note that he has not seen the object in question and so is not personally familiar with it. The best he can do is use that "Alternatively" part of the spell description:
I will rule that if Adamant can describe the "nearest object" of that particular kind and be as specific as he can, it could count.

If he saw one of the other azers, would that be similar enough for him to get a better sense of what he's looking for?

If their leader had something really specific I think it could work. But it would have to be like "the ring with a snake head and red ruby eyes" or "the dwarf-sized breastplate with a honey badger's face azure in full, per chevron argent heraldry".
I think it will be less reliable with "a ring" or "dwarf-sized breastplate".
So we may need to talk to the azer again to get a decent description of something notable to search for.

Well, he had said that it basically looked like the one he was wearing, but Adamant didn't see that.

"Adamant out front. Sem and the lady Histra will go with Streko.
Do you mean having them flank Streko in the middle of the diamond (whenever there is room for such)?

Either in front and behind or flanking, which ever makes sense given the geography. I prefer flanking with possible.

We should add a new code to the party book...
I propose: Bros before Hoes.

Adamant gains Inspiration for this choice, to whatever end. But...he's already got Inspiration and you can't have it more than once. So I'll let you give it to someone else (one time choice). Who'll it be?
I'm going to give it to Shorak. He helped despite obviously having an issue with Sulatar in general.

Cool Bean(s). Reminder: You can declare you want to use your Inspiration anytime you're about to make a d20 roll and it just gives you advantage. To make it simple, it's not going to apply to most d20 rolls I'd make for you guys, but if the roll is momentous enough, I'll try and pause and ask if you want to use it. Or you can proactively say something like, "If the lich casts Finger of Death on me, I'd like to use my Inspiration on the Constitution saving throw."

After Shorak translates, Belarin looks at Kalarian and... Just checking. This is a future action if/when Shorak does translate further?

"Redman." Thul calls. "We need the professor here to tell us what he can about the circles." I so wanted to post: "C'mon Thul, who do you think you are? Gilligan?"
