Dave W. - I believe that you can move Adamant that 1 square north, since you are technically not leaving the threat range of your foe. Is that right, Jeff? Oh, let’s do that then...

Adamant calls out with the power of his face to the retreating ghast...to no avail. It simply ignores him. The power of his face! HA!

I'm not complaining, just stating a fact. Last 3 d20 rolls were single digits; 2,4 & 2. Thanks Dave for the extra d4.

And the vampire's roll to avoid Streko's Sacred Flame (which should be fairly easy for him, with a high Dex) was a 1.

As we've already established, the dice roller hates us all equally. Jeff, dice shaming has a long tradition for gamers. You're just going to have to accept it.

Grumble, grumble. Sure. A move+Dash will get him to just within range to cast Command, but of course he's out of actions to do it. Still, he can start running. Incidentally, Dave, can you remind me about Adamant's speed? I know that his adamantine plating reduces his base speed by 5, so that brings him from 30 to 25. But I don't recall what's brought him down to 20 ft. I don't recall, I've been going by what's on the sheet (cell F5). I know armor used to slow you down in earlier releases... maybe we didn't update it when it went to 5e? Could be. Let's set it at only -5 ft., then, unless we come across that elusive other -5. So Adamant's speed will be 25 ft. Not as bad.

Hey Brian, you may need to revamp (punny) your actions once Thul goes. I'll post shortly.
I dont think Shorak will impact my plan.

Actually... nevermind. #10 feked up Thul's plan by running off.

not to be difficult but Adamant did not bless himself. I could only do 5 and so he obviously protects his friends first... He does get the +3 for Aura of Protection which I had forgot.

Vampire inside of my storm sphere to your right. Swarms of beetles to your left. There may be a ghast with a halfling strapped to it headed towards you. Don't ask. FYI, these are backwards. South is the town (where Belarin's coming from). North is the jungle and beach. Although the fog of war could understandably disorient him.

Oh, my bad. Y'know what it was? We kept referring to the "north side of town" when saying which way we needed to go when we left, and my brain just fixated on the word north.
Listen, didn't I just tell you that I always end up saying west when I mean east? Did you really expect me to get this right???

As for the potions, 90% of the time you can taste a small sample of a potion to identify it. If it's rare or tricky in some way, I'll call for an Arcana check to go with it. The only time this can backfire is if it's a cursed, poisonous, or enspelled-to-seem-like-something else potion, which is deliberately meant to harm or fool you.

The reason I had Melethos put Adamant up front was Dave W's comment about being put in the rear of the group and then, because of his speed, having to take a round to get into the action.

I appreciate that Brian... Adamant would have commented about Kal's order to put him in the rear again but I think the warforged is shocked by Larest's death. Especially the complete finality of it. If there were a part of Larest left we could resurrect him from it but you can't with dust. I, David, was shocked. Well played Jeff... btw, work is likely to be difficut next week too... in fact I'm at work now...

Adamant needn't drink the potion now if you want to wait. Figured you'd at least wait for the results of Streko's assessment before drinking a mystery potion. No? Yes, sorry, I’m still working today and I didn’t want to slow Hingis down... I’ll edit my post....

Shorak had done a quick scan of the area where the fight took place before heading out. Any luck?

No, the only thing dropped were the halflings. No one searched bodies. And the prints are of the battlefield and others who've passed through the road before.

Seeing he's been largely dismissed, the orc doesn't turn back as he says over his shoulder. "'Nother boat. Guess not yours." He keeps walking. "Tieflings, aye?" Largely dismissed? Melethos, Kal, Shorak, Thul, and Belarin all stated they stopped, and two of us engaged the orc in conversation.

Well he seems to think so, based on Kal's initial words to him. Some of the others stopping in their tracks didn't stop the orc.

reminder that Adamant has the Delver's Light on... just cuz it doesn't look that way on the map... Right. Forgot to add that. But that's why there was no sneaking up, and eyes turned your way first. Big walking beacon coming out of the jungle.

Thul splits his attention between the flanks and the sky.] Can you specify "flanks"?

"It is a good plan. I will row them out. You want Shorak to bring the boat back then? I only point out that both Streko and I will be split from the group if healing is required on the beach." "But perhaps this will help... Captain," Adamant places his hand on Thul, "please accept Dol Arrah's warmth." After, Adamant will lift the headless Oathbreaker corpse and sit it in the row boat. "If we are agreed?" Adamant will Lay On Hands for 30 hp if he allows. If Thul doesn't want it, Adamant will not. I think Thul is the only one seriously hurt.I'm writing this OOC because this is more a mechanics question. I only said Shorak because I assumed that Adamant's size and weight would be an issue for the rowboat with Starg and everyone else in it. If that's not the case, I would agree that it would make more sense for Adamant to bring the boat back.

"The darkness could be a feint." he shouts across the beach to the demonkin. "The damn thing can go invisible whenever it feels like it." Melethos turns to face the darkness in the jungle. His thumb caresses the braid of hair on his belt. “We need to be careful... the demon will have tricks prepared for us. Now, Captain,” Adamant pulls his shield to his arm, “let us see to this darkness.” The warforged heft’s his hammer. He starts to move past Belarin and Histra and towards the darkness. Guys, neither Shorak nor Thul (the only two to notice the sphere of magical darkness in the jungle) have said anything about it, or pointed to it. Thul said "the darkness" without pointing or indicating anything, to everyone else he is likely referring to something else, the sky, the water, the jungle in general; it's all very dark (but generally low-light beneath the stars, moons, and Ring of Siberys). The point is that the globe of magical darkness is hard to notice in the gloom, and only Thul and Shorak rolled high Perceptions and were looking to the jungle. This is why I asked who's looking where, etc. I'll have Adamant move to follow Thul, but to move toward the sphere of darkness suggests he's even seen it. He hasn't and doesn't even know about it yet. (I couldn't find mention of the vampire's body. Has Adamant not placed it down? He's carrying it even into possible battle? It will certainly slow him down!)
