Yup, I'm doing nothing but waiting. On both fronts.
Rather discouraging.

Um, from my position, that decision was made yesterday. I was under the impression Team Shorak WAS on the way home (with Shorak thinking about ways to contact his kids...or some such thing). :-)

Joe's correct. I posted that we were heading back to the encampment several posts ago. Even though Shorak was looking for a potential contact to look for clues, I spefically stated that he was still moving towards the camp.

Wait, I wasn't suggesting we disguise ourselves and leave the camp to look for Kal (last seen somewhere in Texas, I believe). I meant finding Larest, who can then warn Kal through his magical bluetooth communication thingy.

Jeff, how large are the crowds around Team Shorak? Is it possible to slip through the gate within a crowd or knot of people or will we be completely exposes as we approach?

No big crowds anywhere right now. The other gate was more so because the more numerous guards are actively checking people as they seek to pass.

Joe, does Streko have Disguise Self currently memorized? If so, Kal could take himself and Shorak across via Dimension Door, and Streko could walk past the guards without much a problem.
I understand being reluctant to use up spell slots, but getting past the guards without causing a ruckus could be very important.

"f Streko still carries his new magical bag, the two of you get in and I carry you past the guards." Streko's own haversack is certainly too small for this. The Bag of Holding which Sem/Larest has acquired for the party's use would be able to fit Streko (the extradimensional space is approx. 4 feet deep) but not a medium-sized character. And then it has 10 minutes worth of air, or less if you squeeze others into it somehow. Just FYI.

Like Shorak would know how much room is in a bag of holding or Streko's haversack? Where's the fun in that?

Darren, I think Streko's Disguise Self can only disguise one person, while Kal's Dimension Door can teleport two people. You might want to rethink you suggestion.

I was responding to what Streko said. My bad. Kal doesn't know the ins and outs of Streko's spells.

Jeff, I've been studying the map of Stormreach and comparing the route Histra mentioned with that map. You don't mention ever crossing the river, but mention walking in a straight line to the waterfront. But the only straight line I can see is crossing a bridge near the Temple of the Vol and waking that road east past the Karnathi district and the Tharashk enclave to the waterfront. Have I got that right?

Are you remembering that the map is flipped on its side and north is to the right?

Thul wants to get to the riverboat and get moving. Unless we get into combat, there won't be any need for further input from me.

Much will happen before even combat that requires involvement and interaction. In general, I ask everyone in this game to never just go into auto-pilot mode. That's kind of the beginning of the end of participation when that happens. Knowing what a character is doing or looking like, even passively and even when they're not engaging in central discussions, is important to me. Gives me and others a visual for what their manner is. Anyway, I'll most post again soon. But as for Team Shorak, just waiting for Shorak.

FWIW, I enjoy the non-combat role playing part of the game. It leads to better character development. Like the joke Melethos and Belarin just shared. To me, that adds flavor to the world. Makes it appear more real.

Just for the moment.
As long as we are progressing to the riverboat, I don't have anything to add. Don't wait for me to confirm that Thul still wants to go to the riverboat. It's a given. The less posts confirming the same plan, the better.
I am still in full participation mode.

Does anyone else see direct parallels between Jeff's cart scenario and Les Mis? All we need is for one of those guards to be Javert and we're headed for a musical number.

Melethos can't sing, and I doubt Adamant's any good at it, but I get Belarin and Thul can carry a pretty tune.

His heart starts hammering inside him, until the mask lowers: It's Histra, not Demise. She is only holding the distinctive mask, not wearing it. She meets his eyes and curls one finger to beckon him. It looks like she was just trying to get his attention from a distance. Histra, that lovable scamp. What a sweet way to get someone's attention... by giving them a heart attack...

Again, if a character is casting a spell or doing something with the game mechanics, please just say so in the pink, out-of-character text below.
Here I am guessing Streko is casting Thaumaturgy, which has the V (verbal) component. It involves chanting mystic words aloud and only so surrepticiously.
