Jeff is good at speeding through these non-critical issues. When the party leaves, don't be surprised if we see spans of travel that are taken up in a simple, single post.

Shorak is going to check out a warehouse where he believes a band of orcs? may be holding Captain Morsha. I will have to go back and see if I can find the posts that refer to this lead. But, not tonight.

But, not tonight. Dave, I'm good with your desire to find Morsha. I suspect the others would agree. But as I wrote in my post, I'd prefer we do this together. Also, since this is your idea, you get to lead this little side adventure. You are the one in charge. Now, that being said, I respectfully request that you make every effort to post as frequently as you can. I know you don't have ready access to the Internet during the day, but since this is something Shorak feels strongly about (and thereby you), I feel the burden falls on you to set the pace for this. Just my two cents worth on this.

Thul finds Kruthor. He finds a tent or some suitable pace to rest. He finds someone to mend his stormcoat and armour. He washes up. Tends his wounds. Unpacks, cleans and repacks his gear. Adds to the shopping list - --- Healing Potion x1 Mundane Spell Components --- Attends Calyree's funeral. Sleep. Elvis, we'll get to this soon. But if the party, or much of the party, is about to head out on a new city quest and Thul isn't going, then the party has to split up. Then, well, we have lots and lots of time for this. Also, can you set the text pink what's out-of-character talk in the main thread? Makes it easier in the long run and also when I scan back at posts to look for certain information.

Thul is not interested in their errands.
He is focused on the next objective and will spend his time preparing himself for it.
The sooner we leave, the better.

This is still the first day they met.
He might be friendlier the next day.
Maybe.

Not! The Patriot was the Emerald Claw's commandeered sea galleon. Not an airship. The airship associated with Krez and the Claw is the Northern Wraith. You've never been aboard it. This may be a helpful link to look back: ashlock.proboards.com/post/26883/thread

Big Red has nothing of value to sell. After a short rest, which I'm assuming Belarin will also take advantage of, he will accompany Belarin to secure supplies.

Is there a quicker way we can get through the item purchasing? I don't think we need to roleplay out each transaction, do we? What is the value of the loot? Give us a haggle discount. Exchange for items/services. Get us on our way. Moving through this process quickly will eliminate the possibility for haggling, FYI. Anyway, the resting and shopping and repairing will all move more quickly than the Shorak/Streko/Kal mini-quest will. That said, there won't be nothing for those remaining behind. Stay tuned. And Elvis, Tallis will have a few more words in private with Thul first. Look for that.

Early afternoon, I'm gonna say.
Travel from one end of the city to the other, if there are no unusual obstacles and you hustle, would be about an hour. It's windy and big and not at all like the grid of NYC. That's if things favor you.

Like Brian, I recommend we take a short rest before we split up. It'll help with our hit points, Kruthor can make his treatment for Kal, and Belarin will recover his two spell slots.

"No, not Orvak. I am Khazamus, Fifth Blade of Fah'lrrg!" He says this in the Infernal tongue. The tiefling raises up his spear and the air around him rippled some sort of energy. "Perhaps you will join your own people, before the end, Condign." Then the griffon springs forward—and for a moment it seems like Khazamus is charging him down. The griffon closes in, but his trajectory is taking him over Melethos. Something in that name, Khazamus, strikes a cord within Melethos. He's heard this name before, but not for years. Back home, he must have come across it. He will have to think hard when he has peace and quiet again, and see if he can recall it. *
In the meantime, give me a Wisdom saving throw!
*During a short or long rest, Melethos can attempt an Intelligence check later to search his memory. I remembered this exchange after posting about Melethos's short rest. Do you want me to roll the Intelligence check now, Jeff.

You can make the roll now, but results will have to wait. We're at another start-and-stop moment because, being leaderless, the group needs each person's consent when a new decision is needed: are Shorak, Kal, and Streko taking a short rest before they go? It's bee proposed, but now I need to wait and see if this is what's happening.

Elvis, Jeff had let me know that the funeral pyre had already happened on your private thread, so I took out that part of my post so as not to mix up the timelines. Sorry, about that.

What are the odds that I'm the only one?

Jeff, just for my own clarification, how does it work with the Elven Cloak. As soon as Kalarian puts the hood up, does it start some kind of color shifting? Would it be incredibly noticeable/stand out if he had the hood up while walking around? Or could he put the hood up to hide his face without standing out like a sore thumb?

Basically, yeah, it starts its camouflaging power right away. In a busy crowd with colors and movement all around it might go unnoticed at first, but basically its power to truly hide is when you stand still. If you don't stand still and someone is observing you, it could be conspicuous as it will blurring and shifting a lot.

Cool. That's kind of what I figured. I think of it like the Warder's cloaks from The Wheel of Time series, if that means anything to you.

Jeff, can Minor Illusion be used to make small changes to a person's appearance? Like change hair color or add facial hair or something like that? Nah. Minor Illusion creates a sound or an object. So while you could create an illusion of a hat or a hood or some spectacles or something that can help obscure your appearance, it can't change anything about your actual living self. And it also lasts only one minute. But more importantly, what you're after is already covered by another spell (Disguise Self), which is specifically about that. And spells rarely can do what another spell is designed to to, unless it was more powerful.

FYI: Tomorrow morning, I'll post a list of items that Belarin thinks the group needs, based on the interesting list that Jeff provided. The bundle of +1 bolts is a must-have for Shorak. Is there anything else in particular that anyone is looking for?
Jeff: Is there any chance of Belarin finding an arcane scroll or two for sale during his excursion? He'll certainly be keeping his eyes (and eldritch sight) open for that every now and then as he and Histra walk.
