Joe, this is totally up to you, but Streko's haversack can still carry almost 40 lbs. more gear. It can only fit things that can be pushed through the opening of a smallish backpack (so not whole suits of armor, etc,) but I think this could help. Have a look.

Condign was encumbered up until the recent battle, where I had him shed some common stuff. If Joe is not opposed to storing some of Condign's stuff temporarily, I can find at least ten pounds of gear to put into the sack. Otherwise, I make sure Big Red keeps up.

I had posted earlier that Shorak was sorting the gold coins out of the chest while everyone was looking over the weapons and armor. There should have been time to get a fair amount of gold coins in a pile by the chest.

Awesome! 53 coins it is!
I'm assuming we are heading upstairs and then outside the lighthouse where our guide will see where we need to head...
Unless the scene cuts to Adamant coming out of the shower, just a towel around his waist and Condign from the bed groggily saying "I just had the weirdest dream..." But that would be strange...

Adamant .... even has asked his sword to become a hammer. Adamant is adorably polite. Even though his weapon can change shape on command, still he "asks" it.

Adamant marches along looking for trouble, handling his hammer...
Kal looks back at Adamant. "Dammit, Adamant! Stop playing with that in public! We've talked about this...."

Significant parts of Adamant ARE made out of wood.
(Yes, I'm 16 years old.)
Very good, Darren.

I'm guessing that proboards is just trying to be like Facebook, and its our impulse these days to follow suit, but there's really no reason to "like" any posts here. I mean, you can, I don't want to discourage you, but from my end it creates these little notifications which hang there until I look into them (presumably you can get notifications for other stuff, too).

As the two humans approach the bridge, the figure on the ledge above drifts back into the fog and out of sight. The two are left standing near the edge of the rocky ground where it drops jaggedly into a dark fissure. The fissure is about twenty feet wide and forty feet across. A narrow bridge metal cables and hardwood planks spans the gap, bolted to the edge of the fissure on each side. It looks much sturdier than those rickety bridges in the labyrinth yesterday. There is a slight stirring in the fog at the opposite end, and both humans are hard-pressed to make out what it is. Two humans and a tiefling. Unless, of course, you feel the party is best served by more Kal-Bel. (drum roll and rim shot!)

FYI: I've been slow to post this week because my back went out on Saturday and hasn't returned since, aside from a quick Advil-aided trip to see Star Wars yesterday.
I have a good idea of what Belarin is doing, and I'll post as soon as the updated map is up.

No problem, Ken. May the Relief be with you!
(My entire household is still sick, so I don't even have any guesses anymore about when I can see Star Wars. Not a big fan of the Internet right now.)

Hey, Jeff, with the spider being right below Kal, is that considered in a position that would get a reaction attack if Kal tried to move away?

Good question. On the one hand the bridge is a barrier but the spider is Large. So yes, it would be able to make an opportunity attack but the bridge gives Kal some cover.

Good question. On the one hand the bridge is a barrier but the spider is Large. So yes, it would be able to make an opportunity attack but the bridge gives Kal some cover. Okay, another question....is it possible for Kal to cast Thunderwave straight down? The goal, obviously, would be to hit the spider and not hit Adamant (and hopefully knock the spider off the bridge and cause him to also take damage from falling into the pit...). The description says the range is "Self (15-foot cube) but I don't know if that means self is the originating point and then the cube extends in front of you 15' up, down, and in front, and if so, and applied in a 3D space, it seems like that same cube could be swiveled 90 degrees to point down and extend 15' forwards, backwards, and below.... Ruling from the DM?

Don't rely fully on the grid. Apply the effects realistically.
The spell basically begins at the tip of Kal's hand (or Skyfang) and then it's a 15-foot cube from there, straight down if you want. It would probably partially hit the bridge but also easily the spider. But bear in mind you don't know how strong the bridge is, and you're hitting it with thunderous force. Aiming it downward, there's no risk about hitting Adamant, in any case.

For the record, I really don’t like making rolls for you guys (except, of course, when you're absent like Mr. Bean). I only do it when I have to or if I think it would save a lot of time in the midst of a round or whatever. Like some saving throws. Yes, but when you roll for Kal, I get critical hits. When I roll, I miss.

We should randomly determine who invokes the random number generator for Kal: Darren or Jeff... So for the next roll, I'm thinking of a number between 1 and 20...

So RAW, a PC can lift his STR * 30 in weight... So Adamant STR (16) * 30 = 480 lbs. Condign's sheet says he weighs 205 and has 79 pounds of stuff he's carrying so that's 284 lbs of weight. That all sounds like it works. But I couldn't find a place where it says how far you can pull something... but I don't actually have the books, I just was looking at the website where the Basic rules are... Can we say make a STR check to get Condign up to the bridge? Or maybe it's not really possible and I should wait to do an Aid on Condign's next turn? I don't think Adamant would be able to pull him more than his own movement would allow. So if Adamant is using his action to hoist Condign up, he can auto-pull him up 25 feet (of the 50 ft.), no roll needed for that. On Condign's turn, if he has hands free to climb the rope at the same time, he can climb at half his own speed using his move (which I believe would 15 ft.). That would get him 45 feet. So he'd need to use his own action to essentially Dash and go the rest.

Sounds fair. So Adamant will do that, pull Condign up 25'. So now Condign is hanging there like a juice-filled pinata...
