Yup, I've been waiting on Darren/Kal. But with Mike gone and Darren's recent Facebook post mentioning ER, I haven't been gunning to move on quite as swiftly.

Still...perhaps after tonight, we'll move on.

Sorry. We can move on. I've had so many things going on lately that I haven't been able to come up with any good response to anything. If Kal talks now, Larest will just outwit him....and we can't have that. So we can just move forward.

Can Kal make a Perception and/or Arcana check?

Perception, yes. Arcana check is if there's something magic about the scenario that you know of. Trying to detect the presence of magic requires a full minute.

Seeing Lehranna jump overboard, Kal's eyes widen. "The crazy bitch jumped," he says, not taking his eyes from the front of the ship. "Damn it all, she jumped!"

Maybe I should end the chapter here and begin the next one with that name.

And now I have Ben Folds' "The Bitch Went Nuts" in my head.....

Shorak heads up the stairs closest to Histra's cabin. The rain driving down on the deck, he stops at the opening when he sees Kal moving towards Captain Morsha, notes the bowed heads of Streko and Adamant, he can only assume the worst. He stands at the top of the stairs, unmoving. "Such a waste." he says.

Bear in mind that Kal is probably still standing next to Shorak. Using Ghost Sound, he only has to be within 50 feet of her. And he's not whispering, so anyone standing next to him or next to Morsha should be able to hear him.

So ... based on the posts I've read, the consensus seems to be "let her drown"?

Unless Darren's idea to have the Captain work her magic to save Lerrhana, I don't see much choice. There's no way a skiff would survive the storm. And jumping in after her, well, that would be akin to suicide.

But if you're determined to jump in after her, let's talk about it now, since I'd likely be going in with you.

The only comment I can make is that it's up to Syrdan if he wishes to act on a consensus. In fact, it's not likely he's hearing much of what his companions are saying...so he's left with his own choices.
