I've had to do some sketching in order to let my character take shape, and it got me to thinking- is anyone else planning on rendering their character graphically in some way?

That would be most welcome, for anyone to take a stab at rendering your characters.
But....I imagine if anyone isn't, some of us may eventually step in and illustrate for you!
Speaking of artwork, Josh put together a logo for our game. By the time this game is ready to run, it's going to look sweeeeet.

If I had the slightest bit of artistic ability, I would definitely draw my character. As it stands now, he'd be little better than a stick figure.
