Well, I think everyone makes valid points about the leader and I agree mostly with the concept that the leader will naturally out during the process. It's taking a long time because some of us have not gamed before (I'm totally new to 3E, even though I used to game a lot back in 'the day') and some of us have never played in the online format before. The online format makes quick decision-making, and over-ruling spontaneous ideas much more difficult. It also provides for more time to reflect on ideas and more inclination to be individualistic in one's opinions of what should be done, et al (because there's little pressure to make on-the-spot decisions, and almost no face-to-face confrontation as there would be in a physically present gaming group)
Now, I'm not making a critical judgment, I think there are some positives to the online format too, and the reflection on each act that it encourages, but in my brief experience does not do well in 'outing' a natural leader. We all seem reluctant, perhaps by way of a generous spirit and humility, and hope that someone will just do it.
So, what the hell: I am suggesting that Goran be the leader of this little tribe. If you guys don't agree, that's totally cool and I take no personal insult from your decision. But I think the only way it's going to happen, at least any time in the near future, is if one of us just takes the role. Goran will not be imperious, however, that's just not in his nature. He would rather hear everyone's view first, and make final decisions when necessary, and only when the group can't agree. But he can and will be decisive when needs be.
There it is. Let me know if you think I'm acting like Napoleon or making a power-grab, but it's definitely not my intention.
