Thanks, guys.
Turns out today (after 5 days of bad diagnoses from 3 different "professionals") that Marisa actually has pneumonia, and a bad case at that. No wonder nothing helped so far.
But she's been admitted to the hospital, has the right antibiotics, and the doctor thinks she'll be ready to go in just a couple days.
So I'll be on my own tonight and tomorrow night anyway...you can bet I'll get things moving with DE. It's a good distraction.

Understood, Jeff. Best wishes to you and Marisa. I hope you at least got to appreciate the massive rumbles of thunder earlier today.

I'm sorry to hear that, but at least now she's been diagnosed correctly and can start getting better! As an aside, bad cases of pneumonia seem to be going around. I called to set up a playdate for Francis (the 5-year-old), only to find out that his friend (whose mother I'd just spoken to a few days prior) was in the PICU. He had pneumonia so bad they had to do surgery to clear his lungs out. He's still in the PICU a week later. Scary stuff. Please let Marisa know she's in our prayers.

I'll be unavailable most of Wednesday, most likely. I should be back online Thursday afternoon.

Actually, as it turns out, not really. Marisa has "atypical pneumonia," which is a class of pneumonias that require different treatment than the usual ones. They're still trying to find the right antibiotics to kill it. So today was when the doctor first thought she'd feel better and be ready to the leave hospital, but she doesn't feel much better at all. It'll probably be at least a couple more days in the hospital. Kind of worrisome. But I'm there each day with her, pretty much all day. I'm checking in on DE by blackberry, though, 'cause as I said, distration is most welcome. I'm even bringing a couple DVDs with me to the hospital for us to watch off my laptop. Thanks, Marcy.

I'm out most of the day today. Depending on how tired I am when I get home, I'll check in tonight, but I may not post until tomorrow.

Same here. I won't be back until tonight, but I'll certainly be able to post again. Then again, I want to wait for a few more posts.
For example, I think Kal's last suggestion ought to be replied to by a few of his companions first.

Hello, all. My friends and I will be celebrating the birth of our nation today by going to Gettysburg and watching a reenactment of Pickett's Charge. While I find myself more advantaged than General Lee in that I have a cell phone, I doubt I will be doing more than checking in until I return home again tonight. ;D

Where I come from, we celebrate the defeat of the Redcoats on the fourth of the month. But you do what you want to do. And if either Grant or Lee did had a blackberry, I bet they'd check in on their play-by-post games. Just sayin'.

Oh, Jeff. Everyone know Grant wasn't at Gettysburg. He didn't take command until later.

I wasn't talking about Gettysburg. I was referring to Grant's victory over both King George and Napolean at the Alamo*, of course.
* Which must surely have a basement.

I will be spending some time this weekend with my mom. Can't believe it's been a year already...anyway, I am not sure when I will return, perhaps tomorrow night or, more probably, Saturday some time. In the meantime, I've gi out some ideas of what Streko will be doing should you wish to power ahead in the story.

No problem, Joe. In fact, I'll be away for the weekend, from early Friday through Sunday night. I'll be able to check in each night, but sadly I won't have access to Photoshop, and won't be able to edit or provide new map material. So long as I can keep to words, I will. Otherwise, I'll provide what's necessary Monday morning.

Thanks, Darren. It's been turned in, so it is either good and needs little revision or bad and needs lots. Nothing I can do about it now but wait until I get back the notes. I'll keep you posted.

Guys, the pediatrician found Max's liver enlarged today at his 4-month check up, so we have to head to the hospital for an ultrasound and some x-rays. Pending the outcome of those tests, I may not be on this weekend.

I'll try and post again by tonight, but it's been an eventful weekend. (More hospital visits for my father-in-law; nothing new, but his continual degeneration.) So if not, Monday morning for sure.

I'll update as soon as I get enough free time to do so. Tomorrow morning I have a court appearance (in the continuing saga of benevolent landlord vs. evil tenant), then a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. So....we'll see. Stay tuned. And cross your fingers for Marcy's son!

I'm going away for a few days starting tomorrow morning and coming back sometime on Sunday morning. Not sure what the access situation will be. In the past, I've had it, but who knows what it'll be like this year?

I will be out of town on Saturday and Sunday, playing a gig in Wisconsin (road gig! Woo!). I won't have any access from Friday night until Sunday night.
