“ Shorak is always accustomed to ducking things flung at him.” I think Shorak might need to rethink his lifestiyle based on this statement...

Jeff, can Kal use Telekinesis to pull Shorak out of the quicksand next?

Yup, as long as he can still see him. But also, he'd make a magical ability check (d20 + Cha mod) vs. the Strength check DC 17 that Shorak's facing right now. But, now that Calirataia's helping him, he'd also gain advantage on that.

Jeff, I didn't see if this hit from last round in the posts... I may have missed it, just checking... Adamant attacks twice

Right. That was a miss (10) and a hit (19), reflected here as: Adamant discovers quickly that the monster's hide is tough enough that a strong, direct hit is required; when his first swing brings the glaive's head in at a sharp angle, the blade glances off the thick, rubbery hide, but his second chops in deeply, and launches a stream of dark blood that makes the worm quiver and groan. But the pain does not make it shy away, but renew its attack! I used to try to indicate in my pink text precisely how much damage was dealt for everyone, but it gets very time-consuming. So now I tend to only indicate when damage a monster has taken is not the full amount you guys posted. Sometimes I only have it in the main text (like when Melethos used his fiery Rebuke power and the worm was immune to it).

see, I did miss it... actually I saw the narrative but I didn't notice that you've stopped putting in "pink" the detail if it's the same. But that does make a lot of sense.
Thanks Jeff.

C'mon, Joe. Please, I need you to get your head into the game. That green-gemmed serpent (the Green Watcher?) is seriously powerful. If we don't get the upper hand soon, it's gonna be bad.
The Spiritual Weapon attack is a bonus action. Streko gets a standard action and then the spell gives him a bonus action to take a single swipe with the sickle. I won't go into how many times Jeff has explained the mechanics, but I'm more worried about your choices for Streko. Relying on Spiritual Weapon in this situation is like throwing rocks at Godzilla from the back of the party. As an 11th level cleric, Streko is probably the most powerful PC in the group. Not only does he have a full arsenal of 11th level cleric spells, he has some damned powerful class abilities I rarely see you utilize.
Please, please, my friend. If that dragon scale armor isn't cursed, I'd love to see Streko strutting around wearing it. But we have to survive to see that happen. Without a fully engage Streko, we're not gonna win this one.

I think I misunderstood, Jeff. I didn't think Kal could grab AND release something in the same turn. I thought a thing was grabbed until he either grabbed something else or released it on the following turn.

"All right, enough of the mystery. Who is the mystery guest?" Oh, I don't think it's meant to be a mystery at this point. Adamant, earlier: Adamant climbs aboard and wanders over towards where people are gathering, in passing he comments to Belarin, "Apparently they have a Cog prisoner on the other ship."

I think Belarin didn't hear Adamant... he was pretty concerned about Histra at the time I suppose...

At some point I'll need definitive decisions around who's going over to the wind-galleon and who isn't. I know you guys are just debating right now, but don't leave it up in the air! You decide!

I believe Joe forgot an Oxford comma. I believe he was addressing the group and saying, "Melethos, Kal, and I can...." At least, that's how I read it.

Seems you are correct, Darren. I misread what Joe had written. Though I would have gladly had Mel follow Streko's instructions.

Just another casualty of the dark, pre-Oxford comma times.

Just a reminder: magic rings, like magic armor, tend to resize themselves for the wearer. Adamant can put on most magical rings. Ring of Telepathy included.

Okay, but Kal would know that. He’s got a lot more of experience with magic.

So, uh....I haven't added anything because Kal already asked several questions that just kinda went away, so I didn't want to be a broken record.

Kal shrugs, his hand absently fingering the Rekkenmark blade at his side. "I've done it before. What's one more? Are you so eager to die?" _______ Geez....that was so long ago, and everyone was so shocked when Kal did it!So long that I'm not even sure what you're referring to. What's "it"?

Kal took that Rekkenmark blade off of a captain that he killed in cold blood after the initial lightning rail incident. ashlock.proboards.com/post/746/threadEDIT: Although, reading through it now, I realize that the blade actually came from an Emerald Claw captain, and not the one that Kal murdered. Ah, the mind plays funny tricks on us.

Quick OOC strategy meeting here....
As a character, Kal is not going to allow Ulad to be released. He would never see the wisdom in doing that, and if Streko insists on going up to the captain to ask, Kal will allow it to happen and then go into the cell and kill Ulad himself while Streko is away.
As a player, I don't want to stop Joe or anyone else from playing the way they want to play, and I think Joe is allowing Streko to do what Streko would do in this situation.
As a team of players, I think we need to agree on what direction we're taking. I agree with Kal that there is no good reason to release Ulad, but I also think there is probably information to be gained from him. Before I go any further, I'd like to hear from y'all on what you want to do, in-character, next. (I'm including Ken and the Dave's in this, too. Since this is an OOC discussion, I believe all players should be given a say. If Jeff doesn't approve, I'm sure he'll weigh in.)

Melethos understands the risks of being a warrior of any sort. Udal took his risks, got caught, and now his life is forfeit. He will not oppose the Twelve's decision to execute the man. Harsh, I know, but to me it feels right.
