Actually, no.
You can only use the extra attack if the first action is the Attack action. A Ready isn't considered using the Attack by itself because a Ready allows you to do any other action type.
The main action types again being:
Attack (fighters, paladins, etc. can only use their second attack if they also take the Attack action) Dash Disengage Dodge Help Hide Ready Search Use an Object (of significance)

I did see this. The PHB should be out soonish... Paladins aren't in the online pdf, at least at this time. Do you know if Paladins are in the PHB? Will the online stuff be updated?
I'm not unhappy with the way things stand, where Jeff (and I think Ken) have access to the details needed for the campaign. It is more work for you...

Okay, the only thing I see about Adamant that doesn't seem technically correct is the skills/backgrounds. He's got 5 skills he's proficent in but should have two from his class and two from his background. Technically there's an additional plus you get from the background.
So I could pick a background (probably Soldier) and fix the skills.
I'm flexible, willing to change whatever.

Correct. One of the changes from the playtest to the final rules is number of skills. Backgrounds used to provide three, now it's only two. So I'd like to stick with two. Don't worry about adapting it to one of the backgrounds listed in the PHB.
Each of you: Just choose one of your skills to drop. Might be best to let me know which one you choose here and I'll handle it on the sheet so we don't overlap and cut away too many.

So I guess I'll give up Medicine. I think I've used all the others in at least a role-play kind of way...

While I lose one skill proficiency, I also gain an additional invocation compared to the beta. So to make things nice and neat, I'll take the Criminal background (giving me Deception and Stealth) and choose as my fourth invocation Beguiling Influence (Deception and Persuasion). So I'll have the same five skill proficiencies that are on my sheet now.
Jeff: Did the Actor feat in the beta also confer a +1 to Charisma? I can't look it up here in Miami to confirm.

oh, Ken's going to make Belarin right by the rules... If you prefer, I can do that too.
Adamant would take the background Soldier. That would give him Athletics and Intimidate. SO then I'd pick up Insight and Religion from Paladin.
Or we can stick to dropping Medicine...

As usual, I have no idea what ya'll are talking about. I've gone over Condign's sheet and I'm totally lost with regards to Background and such. I'm sure Jell will eventually help me sort this out.

Cool, Mike. If you want to do anything drastic, let me know first. He's already been rebuilt...right now it's just a matter of updating him from the alpha playtest packet to the final printed version. But if you see something you want to change, just give me a heads-up!

Note to all those with spells: If you have the new Player's Handbook, double-check the spell descriptions on your character sheet. There are a lot of subtle changes, especially in how you can "stage up" the spell's effects by using higher-level spell slots. Many of the spell lists, too, have changed. I came across that while reworking Belarin's sheet. I needed to swap out a few spells that were no longer on the list. Jeff, I'm all done, except for one thing: The Pact of the Blade for warlocks allows for the pact weapon to be summoned. One big change in the new PHB is that a warlock can choose an existing weapon and, through a ritual, make THAT his summoned-at-will pact weapon. Huh, can I do that? Huh? Huh? I'm all for finding a way to work that into that narrative as a way for Belarin to "reconnect" with his weapon and his task.

Okay, Shorak has been updated. Only a few changes. Sneak attack damage is now 4d6. Burglary is now Second-Story Work and HD is now d8, which means HPs need a change. I figure you want to do that yourself, Jeff. According to PHB we get max at first level so, 8 + 6d8 + 7(Con) or 8 + 30(avg.) + 7(con) = 45. I rolled a 47 myself, but I wouldn't mind the DM rolling and taking the higher #. If you're willing, Jeff.
I think that's it. Let me know if I missed anything.

I don't quite follow your formula, Dave. Can you link me to your Invisible Castle roll?
Also...no way do I want to roll hit points for you guys! That's a player thing! But I do have a "average or better" type of system. Link me and I'll show you.

Note: I've now updated everyone's XP. You're still as far into 7th level as you were (which is to say, still early in 7th level), but we're aligned now to the final PHB experience point scale.

But I do have a "average or better" type of system. Link me and I'll show you. The second formula is from the PHB. It says the rogue can roll a d8 for 2nd level and higher or just take a 5. So 6 levels comes to 30 hps. My bad, Jeff. I forgot about invisible castle. I just rolled real dice. Here is the rerolled hps on invisible castle. It sucked, of course. Two 1's on the roll, only one roll higher than 4.. If there is a better option, I'm all ears. HP roll (the +15 is Con 7 & the max 8 Shorak gets at 1st level combined) (6d8+15=34)

Dave: Okay, in this case let's just go with what you rolled. Don't suppose you wrote down what each roll was? When I do this in tabletop games, anytime someone rolls in the lower half of the die's possible results, I just have them roll again until they get somewhere in the upper half. So when rolling a d8, any roll of 1-4 means reroll until you get a 5-8.

Done! I rolled another 8 and a 5. So the numbers are as follows - 8, 8, 7, 5, 5, 5 + 7 for Con + 8 for 1st level, giving Shorak a total of 53 hps. Not bad! I'll update the sheet. Thanks.

Guys, I'm working (slowly) to update all spell information to the Player's Handbook. As a spell description gets finalized, I'm highlighting the cells in light purple. Everything else might be close or already matching the PHB, but I don't know that for sure yet until I get to each one. Mike and Joe, both your spell lists have shifted a little bit. Joe, Streko's got the Trickery domain (Olladra being a tricksy one), so he's got some really neat tricks now. I kept your chosen prepared spells right now close to what you used to have, but due to the shift (some spells disappeared, others appeared) I've had to readjust a little bit. Note that in column D, I'm using a check mark (✓) to indicate spells that are prepared for the day. Eventually you guys need to take charge of that and select any different spells each day. Spells marked with a white ✓ (with black background) are special spells you always have prepared (based on your domain or oath, etc.). You never have to count those among the Note that Syrdan has the Misty Step spell. So he can join Belarin and Kal in the zip-around-the-battlefield department. In the meantime, Mike, you need to pick seven spells to have prepared (not counting the four you always have.

I don't know if this version still has assists on skills, but Kal will try to help Belarin out. A good question. Helping someone with a task definitely still exists. If the circumstance is right, you could grant someone else advantage. In this case, I wouldn't allow. If Belarin was doing some routine that everyone was familiar with, they could try to support him and assist. But Belarin hasn't clued them in on exactly what he's doing, so supporting him is kind of an awkward assist. Story-wise, it's perfect. And whatever you do or say I'll take into account from the NPCs' side, but it wouldn't affect a number.

For the Extra Life charity D&D game this weekend, Eberron creator Keith Baker is playing a warforged - which he had to essentially create since 5E doesn't "officially" have player rules for warforged yet. But if those rules are coming from Keith? Yeah, that's pretty official. keith-baker.com/extra-life-hacking-the-warforged/

Darren, let me know if you need any clarification about Kal's actions this last turn. I know we're all getting used to some of the 5E rules. I rather like these, though; they bring a bit of realism which 4E (strangely) didn't cover as much. It was easier to do ranged attacks in crowds in 4th Edition; i.e. everyone was more of a superhero. I daresay in 4E, even stormtroopers would have shot better.
But in this case, it boils down to two issues:
(1) You need line of sight on an enemy, which Kal didn't have for his two targets, so he had to move forward to reach it.
(2) Being adjacent to an enemy doesn't provoke any opportunity attacks when you make ranged attacks like before, but it does mess with your aim—so you simply have disadvantage on the roll. Meaning you roll twice and have to use the lower result.
(3) If any allies or enemies are providing some cover to your target, they get at least a +2 bonus on their AC. If it's more than one or two obstacles, then it's even more.

Dang, it was really nice not having to worry about line of sight. That makes things so much more difficult. Okay, I probably wouldn't have done Kal's attack that way, but it's not a big deal and I'll adjust next round. Thanks!

Okay, all you 5E brainiacs out there, here's a question: If you successfully shove and opponent, does that provoke an opportunity attack on that opponent?
