Syrdan reserves "Bigby's Approving Thumb" for his friends. ;D

Yeah, there needs to be more Bigby spells. Bigby's Approving Thumb is an easy sell for lower-level mages. But once you get up in power a bit, I think Talk To Bigby's Hand would be a good arcane counterpart to the cleric's Sanctuary spell. And for high-level wizards, you can't beat Bigby's Metal Horns. Anyway.... Before I post again, I want to remind you guys that there's a heck of a lot going on (or potentially going on) in this current part of the story. Particularly in this room. I can keep posting some stuff, but it's leaving a lot of you hanging and waiting. I know a lot of you also post about keeping an eye out for stuff, and I try to remember that as I think about what might be noteworthy. But for the most part that's just you being reactive. This is a good situation where you can be proactive, and that in turn helps me fill in more of what's going on. And by proactive, I mean specifically tell me what you're looking for, or actually go and interact with someone or some thing. Otherwise I'm just assuming you make small talk with each other and sit tight. Which is fine, if that's all you'd like to do. I'm big on giving players opportunity, though. There's all these dragonmarked nobles here and other agencies (and their servants and muscle), a lot of whom are probably going to be direct rivals in the race to find the Eye. This is a good time to learn more about them.

Jeff, a logistical question if I may:
If Belarin were to show the map "surreptitiously" to Worgan & Diesa now - say, grab the map tube & partially unroll it on or under their table - would it be obvious to the entire room or just to the adjacent tables, perhaps, and anyone dancing nearby? Belarin doesn't want his actions to be *completely* secret in this regard, but he also doesn't want to blow the plan by, uh, whipping it out in front of everyone. I'm just trying to get a better sense of the "denseness" of the crowd and the level of dancing, music & other activity at the moment.
Thanks.

Same table, maybe a few other individuals nearby (not whole tables-worth), and anyone up above the table on the balcony looking down at that moment. Certainly not the whole room.

Hey, Jeff....apropos of nothing, I just took a look at my character sheet, and I don't think my powers are listed correctly. I was looking back to our discussion at the beginning of this thread, and I don't see any of the new powers listed there.
Also, the formatting is gone again....

This thread or your private thread? Looking at your private thread, it looks like we left off without you having made a decision on which power. So maybe that's why?

Hey, Jeff. Just curious: is the dwarf going to respond to Condign's parting jab, or should I focus on moving him onto something else?

He's definitely ignoring. Dwarves can be dour but you'd have to be more in his face than that to move him.

All righty. It was worth a shot, but I'm not going to get too involved. Don't want to be defenestrated.

Hey, I don't suppose any of you guys have seen or used this site before? www.myth-weavers.com/forumhome.phpIt has character sheets built in for various editions. I haven't dabbled with it too much yet but I sure like the idea of easy-to-use ready-made online sheets. I've been slowly putting together a cool one in Google spreadsheets, but it's just so much work, even replicating and filling it in for each character would take lots of time I don't have. Anyone willing to dabble with this site?

I've used it for quite a while in a v3.5 Ravenloft game on the Fraternity of Shadows site: www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=256435It's good. I haven't tried it for 4E, but I'll happily experiment. (Yes, OF COURSE I made a psionic character!)

Anyone come to any conclusions regarding that Myth Weavers site? Anyway, I did want to tell you guys that I know how long it's been since we've had a good ole 4E battle. It'll come. Patience! And I'll try and get a couple posts in this week.

No worries, Jeff. This month has been non-stop for me. I've been covering two caseloads (totalling 90 high risk offenders) and training three new POs in their field visits. I am also the only male in the office available to drug test, handle the interstate transfer caseload and am, frnakly, exhausted. I have no idea what day it is or what the date is anymore. Hopefully, by the first full week of April, things will be back to normal...except that I am also applying for a promotion and have to take the written test on Thursday and oral on Monday, amidst everything else going on.
Wow...putting it all back to back like that, I'm amazed I even know who I am!!!

And I'll try and get a couple posts in this week. I started putting together Belarin's sheet a few days ago. So far, so good, but I haven't filled out the powers yet, which is obviously a huge part of any 4E character sheet. I'll post my thoughts by week's end.

Unfortunately, I haven't had time to try out the site yet. Work is crazy right now. I do want to try it. Soon as I find the time, I will.

It's not too bad, some of the things it chooses to not auto calculate seems odd. The only really difficult part was the powers. some powers have a bit of text or tricky text and the boxes are really small. Take a look: www.myth-weavers.com/sheetview.php?sheetid=530113

Not bad. It looks like the power boxes are expandable, though, no?

Expandable in that they let you put lots of text in, but it doesn't resize the box to make it readable. If I want to see all the text I have to open the box. When I have all these empty boxes you could squish or eliminate it would have occured to me to make the used boxes more flexible.
On the iPad anyway. Does the PC version work differently?
But that's my only serious complaint...

To clarify, Kal is not kneeling in front of the sphinx. He just sat down on the floor so that his head would be at roughly the same level as the sphinx's. I don't know if that has any bearing on Joe's post, but I wanted to make sure Jeff knows.

Hey, guys. I know it seems like crappy timing...
But I think I'm going to need to take a hiatus—hopefully a fairly brief one—from DE. My creativity has been a bit shot by the stresses of my recent new job (which, it turns out, is coming to end, too), and I'm going to need to focus more than ever on finding something better.
While I'd have preferred to have ended Chapter 11 first, I'd rather pause right where we are than a few posts from now, since what comes next is rather important and I'd hate to drop a speedbump right after it.

I have no issues with a pause. I'll be leaving at the end of next week for Dallas for my job's annual conference, so I'll be tied up during the week of the 21st anyway.
Speaking for myself of course, take all the time you need, Jeff. We are all friends first, and whatever is best for you, I'm all for it.

Real life, as always, takes precedence over things like games. We understand. Best of luck to you on the search for something bigger and better.
