DE - A Synopsis In Links

Okay, I'm trying something new with this thread. In the past, I've talked about how helpful it could be to keep some sort of summary of the game, either written by me (but that would be double the work) or kept as a log by one of you. That never really happened, so I just thought this might be a good way to track the basics by using links to specific parts of the game.

Have a look. I'm going to make each month its own post. I've gone ahead and filled in the events of Chapter 8 so far. I don't know that I'll be that step-by-step for the previous chapters (when I eventually get to them) or even the ones to come, but hopefully these links will make it easier for us all to:

(1) Look things up.

(2) Get a better sense of time.

• You meet Professor Larest ir'Zathyran in Skyway.

Zol, the 17th

• Having been abducted by Professor Larest ir'Zathyran's contrivance, the party finds itself weaponless aboard the Merrow Down. You meet Captain Morsha and learn her three rules.

• You see that you are at sea now, heading away from Sharn, on the two-week voyage to Stormreach in Xen'drik. You meet Shorak, the half-drow, who was a stowaway.

Wir, the 18th

• Captain Morsha returns your weapons.

• You formally meet Sem Darlesh, the gnome wizard, and Starg, the minotaur, both part of Larest's expedition.

• Sem tells his story and gabs about Larest.

• Sem talks about tieflings and the Eye of Azalar.

• Belarin and Kal meet Histra, Larest's necromancer ally.

• Shorak has heard of the Eye of Azalar...maybe.

• The Karrnathi warship, the Patriot, is spotted.

• Belarin and Histra reminisce; the necromancer is intrigued by the prospect of vampires aboard the Patriot.

• It is decided that you will board the Patriot in an attempt to rescue the elf Lerrhana and possibly slay Krez, the vampire Karrn. The Merrow will intercept.

• Larest explains his idea, which involves the same method he used to abduct you.

• Histra summarizes vampires. It seems a hobby to her.

• You meet Krez's watchdog. The fight begins with Krez and his cronies! Then it ends as you jump ship, elfmaid in hand.

• Histra assesses the unconscious Lerrhana's condition and gives analysis on Krez.

• Histra's gets savagely "friendly" with Belarin.


• You board the Patriot...not so smoothly, but certainly effectively.

• Histra pulls from her bag...her grandfather.

Zor, the 19th

• Sem spills the dirt on Histra's family, the ir'Serrels.

• Sem talks about himself and his set-up with Professor Larest.

• Histra speaks of Lerrhana's possible fate and asks Belarin if "saving" her is worth it.

• Histra and Morsha present the Red Atoll as a destination.

Far, the 20th

• Kal and Sem talk shop about magic, wizard, sorcery, and rituals.

• Larest talks about the Eye of Azalar.

• Kal masters the Unseen Servant ritual.

• Larest talks about the Eye of Azalar and its whereabouts (the ruins of Gerhest).

• Larest explains what he must do when the Merrow reaches Stormreach.

• Larest offers a ring that will allow for telepathic communication.

• The Merrow reach the Red Atoll. The party goes ashore.

• Captain Morsha lays down the rules for the coming storms.

Wir, the 25th

Zor, the 26th

• Captain Morsha is struck down by an attacker in the sky.

• An ooze erupts from a mysterious new crate in the cargo hold.

• Condign discovers Krez.

• The battle ends as Krez exits.

• Rosh is buried at sea.

• Histra speaks with the dead halfling.

Zol, the 3rd

• You approach Shargon's Teeth for the final leg of the voyage.

• Sahuagin of the Blue Fin clan seek "help" to fulfill a prophecy.

• You head down into the depths.

• Sarquaa, a four-armed sahuagin exile of the clan, shows up and makes waves.

• The chest is discovered but a vicious fight begins. Belarin finds an usual candle and a kraken is also discovered.

• You surface and open the chest-within-a-chest.

• Kal, Streko and Condign meet Huru d'Tharashk and saves her life from a two-headed ettin rampaging in the streets.
