This email is to introduce you all.
We're still quite a ways from starting this game, so we can take our time over the next month or so with character creation. Some of you are veterans at D&D, and with play-by-post games. Others are new at this altogether. Some of you know Eberron, but not game rules. Some of you know D&D rules well enough, but not Eberron. So let's just take this one slow, eh? For those of you who know it all, have patience with the rest of us—myself included, since I haven't run a play-by-post game in a long, long time.
First things first, here's a roster of the people potentially on board, in alphabetical order:
Those descriptions really don't cut it, but I wanted to give those of you who are unfamiliar some starting knowledge. There's also a couple of other lurkers out there who are still deciding and would rather see how it all goes first. I'll introduce them if/when they join later. From what Ed tells me, 8 people is actually pretty manageable in a play-by-post game. Plus, I realize in time that some of you may need to disappear now and again or even altogether. That's okay, as long as you give me some advance.
I'll be coming up with a campaign name soon so that I don't have to keep saying "the Eberron game." I've only got a vague campaign idea at the moment, which makes this a blank slate and great fun for me. I intend to build the story details around the characters you all come up with, after all.

- Darren Sussman - New Jersey-based sound engineer, some-time gamer, and jack-of-all-trades. A college friend of mine.
- Ed Gentry - Indiana-based WotC writer (Neversfall, Forgotten Realms, 2008). Husband of Lara (see below!).
- Frank Feeley - NYC-based archaeology major (got that right, Frank?), player of more RPGs than I can count, and day job co-worker of mine.
- Jeremy Simmons - Artist, cartographer (most famous for his DCC maps), writer, and—as I discovered only recently—musician.
- Josh Wentz - Chicago-based graphics and Web designer, musician, and artist...to the extreme! Oldest friend I have (yet one of the youngest, hah).
- Lara Gose - Indiana-based writer, WotC editor, and gamer. Wife of Ed (see above!).
- Marcy Rockwell - Arizona-based writer (Legacy of Wolves, Eberron, 2007), poet, and fellow Eberronian.
- Paul Crilley - South Africa-based book writer (Long Night of Shadows, Eberron, 2007) and screenwriter, too.
