Goran looks flatly at Charis.
"Don't lecture me. You speak of what you've heard ...tales and myths you've heard around the feasting hall fire. I speak of what I've personally experienced, what I've known. Not heard in jittery re-told tales from court sycophants. Keep your arrogance, none of us have any use for it."
To Amal, in a softer tone:
"I know more than you or perhaps anyone else in our party of such...creatures, Amal, but I never presumed to tell you what you 'had' to do. I only offered my view on them. It's information for you to do what you want with."
"But hey, why don't we keep arguing about it? That's helping, isn't it? Make up your goddamned minds."

Torhak pays no attention to any of the arguing, and keeps on walking, not looking back.
"She walks these hills, In a long black veil, She visits my grave, When the night winds wail ..."

Streko walks over to Torhak and whispers to him. "Why is it that the taller a person is, the more argumentative they are? Is it because we see things in their most simple, logical state? Or is it because we are simply more sensible? I believe I'll pitch a tent. Please wake me when the tall ones have stopped chattering." Streko sits down, disgusted.

If Streko wants to talk to Torhak, I hope he ran over to Torhak.
Torhak's been headed towards Shadowcrest Manor since the arguing started. I expect he's almost out of sight from the group by now.

Amal looks off toward Torhak, whose stout body is almost obscured by the slight bend in the road the branches all around.
He looks to Kal. "My lord, go. I need to think on this, and you shouldn't wait. If I decide to come, I will catch up. But I was shown something by that fey woman, and I need to consider it. If staying here lends you any sort of aid...then I will do what I must here."

"Good, it's settled. Let's move on.. before the dwarf takes the Manor all on his own." With a nod to Amal, Grafth moves quickly to catch up with Torhak.

"You're a brave man, Amal," says Belarin from the edge of the green, where he had been watching the dwarf's retreating form. "Keep in mind that if you stay, no matter what they may show you, your destiny is not fixed." As he exits to follow Torhak, he calls back, "It's like a moving a sleeping bear -- hard to do but not impossible ... if you're prepared to run for your life! Torhak, ho! Good news: Our lord of the hornets is coming to lead us...."

Charis gives an exasperated sigh at Goran's words. "You have no idea what I've experienced, half-elf, but it's enough to know that you don't label someone as arrogant simply because they disagree with you -- unless you are intending to illustrate the definition of the word 'irony.'"
To Amal, she says, "Flame be with you."
She returns to Worm and kneels down beside him. "I'm sorry for all the arguing, little one. Do you think you can lead us on from here?"

Amal nods at the Thrane in turn.
Worm smiles strangely at Charis's words, slides off the rock and takes her hand. "All people and birds argue. All the time, all the time." He leads Charis down the eastern road, steadily gaining on Torhak.
Matheu has a brief and silent exchange with Amal before leaping up into the air again.
"My lord, I will remain here," he affirms again to Kal. He tries to smile. "If I am not here when you return—which I am confident you will, with freed captives and at least one deserving hostage—do not wait for me. I will either return toward the ship or do whatever it is the lady requires of me. But if she takes my presence as acceptance, perhaps she will wait here with me for your return."
When they're a bit down the road, Worm points in Grafth's direction and looks up with his unseeing eyes to Charis. "Isn't the shiffy man hungry?"

Kalarian grips Amal's forearm, a soldier's embrace, and looks him in the eyes. "We WILL be back for you. I intend to see you again, Amal." He holds the man's gaze for a moment, then hefts his Halfling weapon onto his shoulder and walks off in the direction Torhak went, whistling for Tangat to follow.

When they're a bit down the road, Worm points in Grafth's direction and looks up with his unseeing eyes to Charis. "Isn't the shiffy man hungry?" Charis looks amused. "He may be, at that. What do you suppose he'd like to eat, hmmm? Some of those quarreling birds?" Then her expression turns more serious. "Are you hungry, lad? I have no food to offer you, but perhaps the others will stop soon and we can find you something to eat."

A new post (and chapter!) coming from me soon. If there's anything else anyone wants to do or say while heading along the eastward road, do so now!
Does Streko want to offer up those scraps to Worm again?

Apart from seeing if Belarin knows any dwarven drinking songs, Torhak's ready for the next chapter.

Grafth's attention is on the countryside. Now that they are moving forward again, he looks calmer yet more intent. Now and again he scans the forest for faces, but the shifter knows he won't spot any "familiar" faces.
Nothing more from him this chapter!

Apart from seeing if Belarin knows any dwarven drinking songs, Torhak's ready for the next chapter. "Wait, wait, Torhak," says Belarin, catching up. "Too somber ... and a little off-key! Try this: Let’s raise a toast to Krahk the brave To save his clan, he stormed a cave He cleaved a troll, five hags, ten orcs! For remembrance’s sake their skulls he saved And sixteen mugs to his king he gave To drink success with salted pork! We praise Krahk’s might and pop the corks!OOC: I'm ready for the next chapter.

I'm ready to move on, as well (though I hope someone has food for Worm, as Charis has no packs to speak of, and hence, no food).

Goran chuckles, and looks at Streko.
"...and why is it the shorter they, the more they preach?"
The half-elf nods his respect to Amal, and dashes off to catch up with Torhak in the lead.
Why is everyone SO testy about a little arguing?
It's funny how we all complain about arguing, and then write a long argument rebuttal! We're arguing about arguing! So what if it took us an extra page, we made the decision and now the game moves on! ;D
Yes, ready to move on to the next chapter.
