I don’t follow. That “squiggle” shows you the closest thing to a grid-based straight line towards the troll from where Streko is standing. Every other diagonal movement costs 10 ft of distance. 5, then 10, then 5, then 10. I’ve been over this a few times, and whenever it comes up I point it out. I was demonstrating that he WASN’T within 60 ft. of his target.

I love that Adamant is now pondering some sort of nonsensical troll shipping industry mid-battle. What a horrible business model. I know, right? I mean how much would it cost to stuff your cargo space with trolls... the shipping and handling would be ridiculous!

I may be jumping ahead and causing confusion...
Round 7 begins:
22 - Belarin
17 - Streko
16 - Melethos, Thul (any order)
14 - Histra, Sem, Starg, Brack, Kurra
13 - Adamant
12 - Shorak & Tangat
2 - troll
Based on the updated map...
Troll moves into the ship on Round 6. Thul moves (60') to the ship on Round 7.
If the grate over the hold looks too heavy to lift by himself, then he will use a dash action to move/fly into the ship after the troll.

Not sure if there's a question there...
I updated the map but haven't written the corresponding post yet. As is often the case these days, wherein I have just enough time in the morning to do map updates that I can't do at work, then I get to work and write the actual text.

Adamant gains Inspiration for using Revivify, and its precious diamond dust resource, on a stranger. When you receive Inspiration, remember you can just hang onto it and use it when you wish, or else give it away (immediately) to someone of your choice. I'll be giving out some XP soon. Thanks Jeff!

I hate to do this but Adamant needs the hp. I'll use my last 2nd level slot to Cure Wounds.
...and for some reason I did only 1d8 not 2... so I'll do a second roll separately (Remembering to only adding CHA modifier once)...
dlw32:1D8+3 → 8(5 + 3) dlw32:1D8 → 7(7)
8+7=15 more hp. first day back from vacation... sorry guys, a little fuzzy-headed...
A silly thing to worry about. I do individual rolls all the time, no need to say sorry for that! I've adjusted the numbers for this now, btw.

Kal eyes Espre for a moment, then nods. "We are. What do you know of it?" Which remark is this in response to, just so I know?

Kal rolls his eyes at Adamant's oversharing of information. He clears his throat. "Yes, well, since my friend here has now offered it...I am Kalarian d'Deneith," Kal extends his hand to the woman, "and you are welcome to join my company, should you choose." Kal's eyes are doing that thing again... perhaps he is suffering a concussion; I should check him later. Adamant considers. I couldn't resist... Hey, Addy's got 9 INT... and he wasn't the one who went looking for love in all the wrong places... True. Adamant and Melethos were part of the clean-up crew in this situation. Heh, it was like Kal was Kirk who dallied with the deceiving green-skinned alien girl, almost became a Red Shirt for it, and then Bones (Adamant) and Chekov (Melethos?) had to beam down and save him. There is no one analogous to Spock, I think. Belarin's too smartass to fit the bill.

In fairness to Kal (and me), you guys didn't see the private thread. My plan was possibly somewhat ill-conceived, but I didn't know Kal was going to get beguiled. I figured if he got attacked he had Dimension Door and/or Lightning Shift to get himself out of there. In hindsight, I probably should have also had Belarin cast Invisibility on him before he went over to the ship, but the idea of floating over it and listening for survivors with Detect Thoughts was not a TERRIBLE idea.....

Darren, what Melethos suggested was simply a short rest for those who need it, in case the Cogship shows again. I know Mel could use getting his superiority die back, as well as his action surge and second wind. He won't get his Indomitable feat back until he has a long rest. I think we should keep the watch schedule the same, to keep from getting bogged down in multiple details.
Regarding your private thread comment (again, Darren): you're right. We don't know exactly what happened, and your plan wasn't terrible. But a Bless spell or a Protection Against Evil spell cast on you before you flew over there might have made a difference. (The reason why I had Mel bring it up to Kal in the main thread.) I can tell you that in Mel's private thread, when he came against the lorelei, he failed his first save. It was only his Indomitable feat and Adamant's bless bonus that kept him going. Given that, Mel's rushing into that cargo hold alone was also fraught with potential disaster. Had he been charmed, we would still be in major trouble.
I will also say that, once Melethos made his save, I had a blast dealing with that woman. Props to Jeff for setting up an ideal "tough choice" situation: save Kal or go for the woman. Mel couldn't do both. Very satisfying.

Just a little bit of meta fun, I'll also add that I was definitely prepared (almost expecting) you guys to skip the sinking ship altogether and leave it to its fate. Only because you've intervened do you now have the identity of Kythri in mind, as well as some other stuff. And yeah, the whole situation would have gone different if Kal had made his first saving throw (a Charisma one, too, which he's generally good at) from the get-go. The dice really did change things up there. Is Darren still not on speaking terms with the dice roller?

I was assuming a continuous two person watch. If others are awake and want to keep an eye out, okay, but it would basically be 6 hours on, 12 hours off, for each person. That gives everyone enough time to get a long rest in at some point in the next 24 hours but makes sure there are always at least two people on active watch. I’m still not clear. Speak in terms of day and night and how it differs from someone up in the crow’s next during the day at any given time.

6 am - Kal and Melethos are on active watch. Everyone else is doing whatever they want. Noon - Belarin and Shorak are on active watch. Everyone else is doing whatever they want. 6 pm - Adamant and Thul are on active watch. Everyone else is doing whatever they want. Midnight - Kal and Melethos are on watch again. 6 am - Belarin and Shorak are on watch again. Noon - Adamant and Thul are on watch again.
And so on.

I don't know if you are accounting for the way Adamant rests... like elves, warforged only need 4 hours, not 8 to get a long-rest. Also, though they are idle for the 4 hours, they are completely aware.
So Adamant can stand on the deck and rest for four hours and watch during those 4 hours and then is completely refreshed at the end of that. Basically Adamant can be on watch at all times.
If you want to triple up the watches that's fine too.

These days I think Kal is a generic red-shirt. He just walks in, says hi, and someone shoots him. I don't know, Kirk got beat up all the time... It wasn't a proper ep of Star Trek until Kirk's shirt got ripped... And I can think of at least two women who flat-out owned Kirk: the witch-woman from A Private Little War saved his life but had at least a Charm Person effect on him and Elaan of Troyius whose tears causes him to fall in love with her until he remembers he loves the Enterprise more... Oh and in Plato's Stepchildren he's not beguiled but his body is completely at the command of one of the Stepchildren and he kisses Uhura. So the dice sometimes didn't like Kirk either...
