It magically flashes Kal across the battlefield with the speed of lightning, so fast it could easily be mistaken for teleportation except for the trail of sparks it creates, but the bottom line is that Kal is still physically moving through all that space. So Belarin is Batman and Kal is the Flash...

I think Syrdan should be one square up from where he's currently shown (directly below Orc 5).

And Shorak is a combination of Black Widow and Hawkeye. This is a blast guys! I'm so happy that we are back at it. I'm starting to feel those creative juices starting to bubble up and I'm already starting to think 3-4 turns ahead. I just wish I could type as fast as the ideas, both character and story driven, come to me.

I'll be taking a day (and a half) trip to the Lancaster area (hi, Dave!) today and tomorrow, so I don't think I'll be able to post again until maybe Sunday night. But I at least wanted to leave you with an updated map (assuming I got your positions right) where things are right before the orcs go.

Well, crap. I guess that leaves Condign as Hellboy. LOL Speaking of trips, I leave for Washington DC in few hours. I'll be there until Memorial Day. The hotel has wifi, and the work conference sessions will likely be boring, so my posts should stay up to date. Have fun in PA, Jeff.

Lerrhana is—for the moment—protected by Sanctuary. In other games I've played, helpful magic is genearlly voluntary. In effect, the target recognizes the caster as a friend and chooses not to resist the magic. By those rules, if Lerrhana doesn't want the Sanctuary she could reject it, though Adamant would still spend the slot. In any event, there's going to be some fun explaining when the battle's done...

Right. She's accepting it but clearly reserves the right to break its effect by attacking someone....

A mage, 2 Ogres, 3 giant centipedes and 10 mercenary Orcs just weren't enough, huh?

On that note.... Kal is down to 17 hit points. Now that there are no Healing Surges, I assume the only way to heal is for someone to use some kind of healing on him? If so....Kal could use some healing before the nasty orc shoots him in the face....

I'm not sure why Invisible Castle isn't adding the numbers. I must be doing something wrong. Separate multiple rolls with a semi-colon, not a comma. It'll add them together when formatted like that.

Darren, it looks like you scored a critical hit on Ray #3. If so, you'd roll double damage, so 4d6 instead of 2d6.

Adamant can feel the spell he placed on Lerrhana fade away, the magical sanctuary banished by her hostility. I see now the problem with Sanctuary on Lerrhana. I didn't remember the "you can't attack bit". So that's my bad. OTOH, I'm still looking forward to Adamant and Lerrhana having a small tet-a-tet. It's not a good excuse, but the text for Sanctuary on the spread sheet thingy doesn't actually say that… I do recall it from previous D&D versions though; I should have remembered…. The webs are difficult terrain (movement is halved through it) and lightly obscured. Each creature who starts their turn in the webs or enters them must make the Dexterity saving throw to resist being restrained So, the definition of Restrained from the QuickStats Tab on our character sheets thingy: ● Speed becomes 0, and the it can't benefit from any bonus to speed. ● Attack rolls against the creature have advantage, and the creature's attack rolls have disadvantage. ● Has disadvantage on Dexterity saving throws. So we don't really want to be Restrained… especially those of us with low Dex scores… If I'm reading the map correctly, Shorak, Condign, Lerrhana, two bystanders and one of the centipedes are affected.

If so....Kal could use some healing before the nasty orc shoots him in the face.... All of my healing is range=Touch... Adamant doesn't have a nifty FLASH! move (it really is a cool power...) Maybe Streko could help? Or do you have a potion?

Dave, you're right. That's my bad. somehow I missed that last sentence in the spell description. This is it, and I'll add it now.
Sorry, it's going to take a while to fill in all the gaps.

Correct.
Yeah, paladins are naturally healers, but only up close. Ranged healing is the cleric's domain.
Darren, right: no healing surges. That's been replaced by the ability to "spend your hit dice" (over the course of a day) to patch yourself up if you take a short rest (1 hour). It's a weird concept at first but I've come around on it. But in combat, healing is harder to come by. Some classes have second wind-type things.
When you're in bad shape, consider just going on the defensive, which is the Dodge action:

Oh, actually I could give you 5 hp at range (Aid)... not sure that's much of a help, though I could do the same for 2 others at the same time...
Or I could Sanctuary Kal and see if he likes it better than Lerrhana did... you wouldn't be able to attack (or cast I think) without breaking it but it might buy some time for you to get near Streko or Adamant...
Oh, or Condign... he's got some healing stuff too...
