Shorak takes Belarin/Nerrin's cue and heads out into the hallway, being careful of the liquid on the floor. He heads north down the hallway, towards the sound of the laughter, ready to let loose his boomerang at the first target he sees.
Double move down the hallway towards the stairs. As far as possible on the slick floor. If hugging the wall on either side helps to traverse the hallway, he will do so.

Team B Correct. The solution on the ground causes each person to move 2 less, but they won't slip and fall as a result of accepting this speed reduction. So Adamant can bring his shield to bear.
Both guys, actually.
Round 1
25 = Belarin 17 = Shorak 17 = Adamant 5 = mystery men_______________________________ Shadows from Shorak's apartment begin to shift around Belarin as he moves out the door, and he takes them with him as he goes, making his body harder to discern. When the brutish cloaked stranger is in his sight, he levies his curse and angles his vine-wrapped wand to point around Adamant's wall-like frame. Eerie gray mist streams out in a thin line and envelops the man, and almost instantly his body seems to sag under its power. He grunts unhappily. Shorak slips out behind Belarin and Adamant both, moving out into the hall, carefully, wary of slipping on the mysterious solution that slicks the floor. He sees the large cloaked man facing Adamant, and when he gets more than halfway down the hall, he can just make out the partial shape of another, thinner man, coming down the stairs but he doesn't have a clear sight yet. And Adamant readies himself with his shield. • Belarin's attack hits the cloaked man and deals 13 necrotic damage, and the man is weakened until the end of Belarin's next turn. • Shorak double moves. • Adamant readies his shield. The larger man at the south end of the hall looks angry now, moving slower. He doesn't look less confident, just more hampered by the magic Belarin uses against him. But he moves steadily right up to Adamant and swings his studded club hard against the warforged. But he himself slips at the last moment, almost falling to one knee, and Adamant easily raises his shield to block the club. A shower of sparks sprays off its surface as the two hit, as if the human's club were a giant piece of flint, but the sparks fade away quickly. The other man sees Shorak advancing on him and stops. He, too, is cloaked and hooded, but the cloak hangs open and the half-drow can see the man's chest is bare...and seems to have some sort of symbol carved into the flesh, leaving an a large, intricate scab in place. It looks very much like the symbol above Shorak's door. The human raises both hands, revealing a dagger in each, and clashes them together. Fire springs up between them, wreathing both blades. The man begins to speak, intoning disturbing words with a strange cadence to it, and even as he does he throws one of the flaming blades at Shorak! The dagger misses and instead clatters to the ground at Shorak's feet...and immediately, with a low rumble, the fire from the blade ignites the oily substance on the ground. It hasn't overtaken Shorak yet, but it's moving at a frightening speed. • Mystery man #1's attack against Adamant's AC: 11 (miss) • Mystery man #2's attack against Shorak's AC: 13 (miss) Meanwhile, the man's words are loud. His voice is hoarse, as if it's been over- or under-used lately. But the words are spoken clearly and with an eldritch, zealous delight. "When crosses the ring of night The slave in dark and light flesh Is consumed in fire The third lock opens to the sky" Somewhere behind all three of you you hear that titter of laughter again, not coming from either of the cloaked humans. Almost sounds like it's coming from inside Shorak's apartment now. ____________________________ Actually, Ken, in 4E you don't declare lethal or nonlethal, you just do normal damage. When you bring an enemy to 0 hit points, then you can declare whether you just want to knock him out or try to kill. But since you don't know when the final blow is made, it's always helpful to know your intent. I prefer it like this, where you declare before knowing what hit points he'll get to.

You conclude your business at the Kundarak vaults*—as Rinti stands awkwardly nearby and looks this way and that as if she's about to be chased by a guard—and then head back out of the whole enclave.
On the way toward the Citadel of the Twelve, a great shadow passes over you. Another airship, this one relatively small and carved with features of a dragon, flies surprisingly low overhead, drawing the irate glare colorful curses of many dwarven guards. Crossbows are aimed skyward, and orders are barked out.
But it's no attack, just some lackadaisical or deliberately daredevil flying. You know that nearly all airships are piloted by an heir of Lyrandar, whether the vessel itself is owned by the House of Storm or privately chartered. It reminds you a little bit of Ralsor and his mischievous reputation. But the Thunderhead is probably still in Fairhaven. You remember that he was going to bring his ship to Sharn after a few weeks. That seems a very long time ago now, especially after your voyage across the Thunder Sea.
"Lots of new folks coming into town," Rinti says, eyeing the airship, then quieter so her voice doesn't carry: "More than usual. Maybe all for this Eye of yours? Just how secretive is it?"

* Okay, from here on out, we can assume you'll be able to withdraw from or add to the bank gold as needed. As for how rich or poor you are, Darren, stop whining. For starters, you guys are loaded down with all kinds of gear you never use or, in some cases, ever even examine. A lot of that you can sell for some decent cash.
Meanwhile, I've placed 100 gp in Streko's inventory and deducted it from the bank amount. But buying more ritual components can be easily handled now.

Belarin, splitting his attention between each end of the hallway, sees and then feels the flames approaching. But his appreciation of their danger is swallowed in the wake of what he just heard.... This other fool is trying to mimick his act! He takes a couple of steps toward the flames, glaring at the man with the flaming dagger. Then he calls out angrily -- and amazingly still in Nerrin's nasal voice -- "Your visage repels, your wordplay fails. Now I'll raise hell to hear your wails!" ___________________________________ Yay! Rhyming Time! Move: 3 squares north (cautiously to avoid slipping). Shadow Walk and +1 damage from Empowering Shadows remain in effect. Standard: Still using the wand of enfeeblement +1. Attack Stranger #2 with curse of the dark dream vs. Will: 1d20+7=22. That looks promising. Damage: 3d8+5=19 = total 19 psychic damage, and Belarin slides Stranger #2 three squares closer, into the first square that's already on fire. ;D That puts him 2 squares in front of Shorak. Stranger #2 is subjected to the curse of the dark dream (save ends). And probably fire damage. Minor: Assuming that's a successful attack, Stranger #2 is now closer than Stranger #1, so Belarin hits him with Warlock's Curse for good measure. Steal MY act, will you?!?
P.S. I'm normally not fond of splitting attacks between targets, but it's something that benefits warlocks, and it seems important to prevent Trent Reznor here from getting away, especially after that eerily Shorak-specific invocation.

Team B"Nerrin, do try to stay nearby." Adamant maneuvers carefully on the slick surface. "We haven't been properly introduced," Adamant blocks the club with his shield again, "I am Redoubt. I think you will find I am full of surprises as we dance. The first thing to know is this dance is between us, you will not engage my friends unless you first put me down. I'm very protective of my friends." "The second is I also have hidden allies… Lady, guide my blade!" The sword in warforged hands slices towards the thug. ------------------------- Challenged at Beginning of round: no one
Minor Action: Divine Challenge
Standard Action: Righteous Smite vs AC (1d20+13=32) If that hits (please dear Dol Arrah, let that hit!) damage (2d8+7=20) Wow… the roller likes me tonight!
Also, if that hits, me and my allies w/i 5 squares (I suddenly think Shorak should step back away from the fire a bit ) gain 8 temp hp.
Move Action: None.
Challenged at end of round: Mystery Man S (for South; probably ought to give them numbers or something)

Kal watches the airship float over and grows quiet, remembering Ralsor. I liked him. He shrugs, then looks down at Rinti. "I don't imagine it's much of a secret at all. In fact, we're here looking for rumors or clues. I've heard that there is a man in town who has a map of some kind." Kal makes no attempt to keep his voice down. "Have you heard anything, Rinti? Do keep your ears open." He pauses for a moment, then adds, "But don't go digging. I wouldn't want someone to think you had more information than you do and try to put you in some kind of harm." Kal is about to raise a hand to playfully tousle the girl's hair, then thinks better of it. She is in my employee, after all.

Team BShorak smiles when he sees the glyph scarred human forced closer and into the fire he created. He leaps forward and to his right, kicking off the wall and flipping over the human to land just clear of the oil and fire, a bit behind the caster. He brings his short sword to bear, slicing at the ribs of the human. Move action: Tumble - shift 3 squares; 2 north, 1 nw, ending up NW of the glyphman's new position.
Standard Action:Trickster's Blade (1d20+11=14) I doubt that hit, so I won't roll damage.
If for some reason Belarin did not slide glyphman, Shorak still tumbles to the same position and will use Sly Flourish with his boomerang instead. That lowers the attack roll to 13 and still misses.

25 = Belarin 17 = Shorak 17 = Adamant 5 = mystery men_______________________________ Belarin moves as quickly as he can across the slick floor, keeping his shadows close. Stricken with a fey spell, the cloaked man slashes out at the air in front of him, goaded by a phantom in his mind...and it leads him right into the fire. His expression of fevered aggression never changes, though he does look down to see where he's standing. He looks up at Shorak... And Shorak swirls past him, rolling off the wall and gliding into place. The flames are hot, and singe him on the way past, but he gets clear of them again. Adamant speaks his challenge and attacks. His sword cuts through the thick layers of the man's cloak and sinks into flesh, spattering the wall and floor with blood. The ugly human gasps through the pain but nothing like fear reaches his beady eyes. • Belarin's attack (curse of the dark dream) vs. stranger #2 hits and deals 19 psychic damage and slides him 3 squares, and he is subjected to the curse of the dark dream (save ends). • Shorak uses tumble and shifts 3 squares. • Flames vs. Shorak's Reflex: 23 (hit) / 3 fire damage to Shorak • Shorak's attack (trickster's blade) misses stranger #2. • Adamant places Divine Challenge on stranger #1. • Adamant's attack (righteous smite) hits stranger #1 and deals 20 damage. • Stranger #1 is bloodied. • Adamant and Belarin gain 8 temporary hit points. As the fire begins to spread along the spattered, oily puddles (seemingly 2 squares per round in each direction) the hallway suddenly becomes much warmer, and the flames rise surprisingly high. The thinner, glyph-branded man seems eerily calm for standing amidst the flames. He makes no attempt to bat them away, though you can see that his cloak is already starting to blacken and smoke. Ignoring Belarin altogether, he whirls on Shorak, madness in his eyes. "You cannot escape the fire!" he shrieks, then throws out his fist like a punch. Flame blossoms from his hand and washes over Shorak in a focused blast. It dissipates quickly, but Shorak feels the deadly burn. Taking his club in two hands, the larger man, his form already slick with blood, swings at Adamant—but once again the warforged is ready for him, and with his shield turns the nasty weapon away. Sparks scream through the air. Seeing his attack ineffective, the human snarls, then withdraws a few steps. As he does, he plucks something from his pocket—a ceramic jar?—and lets it drop to the ground. The moment it impacts, fire erupts from the broken shards. It springs up and begins to form a small wall of flames between warforged and human. They lick at the fringes of the man's cloak, and he doesn't seem to care. " Consumed in fire," the man laughs. At the other end of the hall, Shorak can also see that the fire is spreading along the ground and will soon overtake the stairwell. "This way to safety, sirs," a reedy little voice laughs somewhere behind Belarin and closer to Shorak's apartment—the speaker unseen. For a moment, Belarin wonders if it's one of the fey voices in his head, but he's pretty sure it's not. Plus, Adamant hears it too, coming from almost right behind him. • Flames vs. stranger #2's Reflex: 7 (miss) • Stranger #2's attack vs. Shorak's Reflex: 26 (hit) / Shorak takes 7 fire damage • Stranger #1's attack vs. Adamant's AC: 23 (miss)* ____________________________ *Yeah, Adamant has a good AC.

But I've seen so many new people coming into town, it makes sense. So what can this Eye do, and where is it supposed to be? Has anyone set out looking for it yet? Is it a real eye? Maybe the Eye looks for you?" She giggles, like the child she is. Meanwhile, she leads you on toward the Citadel of the Twelve.

Team B" This way?!? Which way?!? You are aware we can't see you?" "Nerrin, Shorak time to gather up... We need to leave and I think the stairs are not an option." ------------ sorry, getting killed at work this week... Someday mgmt will have to learn how to manage projects... But this is also complicated by voices giving incomplete directions
Adamant will stand ready (holding action) to receive the thugs next attack if he decides to charge through the fire. Since I have him marked that attack would be Holy Strike (+12, dam 1d8+9)
He will also wait for Belarin and possible Shorak to come to him and move in some direction if the voice indicates which way that should be.
He may need to use the disk of energy resistance to get resistance 5 to fire (I think he needs to actually take some fire dam first).

For a moment, Belarin wonders if it's one of the fey voices in his head, but he's pretty sure it's not. Plus, Adamant hears it too, coming from almost right behind him. "OH, REALLY?" yells Belarin, still using Nerrin's voice. "I do appreciate the help, kind fellow! We'll be right there!" Inwardly, he thinks, I don't believe this for a moment.Sparing a moment to glare at the glyphed maniac, he backs away from the approaching fire. "Shorak! Time to leave! We'll meet you! And Redoubt, back up this way!" He approaches the door to the apartment on the west side and quickly tries to open it. ___________________________________ OK, it's contingency time again. Jeff, you didn't say whether Stranger #2 (Trent Reznor) made his save against the dark dream effect. Regardless, he won't use continue the use this round, so the effect ends. Move: 2 squares south to the door. Standard, Plan A: If the door is locked, Belarin will use Thievery to try to open it (+11). Standard, Plan B: If the door is NOT locked, he'll open it and he'll blast Stranger #1 (Mace Guy) with eldritch blast vs. Reflex (+6 to attack; damage 1d10+4, plus 1d6 for warlock's curse). Immediate Reaction: Again, if anybody attacks Belarin, he'll use sudden retaliation (eyebite). I'm saving the minor action, just in case that's needed to turn the doorknob. And the base d20 roll for either standard action is: Roll for Thievery or Eldritch Blast attack (1d20=16). Good either way.

Team KIt is just after highsun (the hour of noon) as Rinti leads you toward the Citadel of the Twelve. Kal and Streko have both heard of the Twelve many times, especially Kal, who was born and raised a dragonmarked―while Streko grew up in ignorance of his house affiliation. To see that they've got a massive outpost here in Stormreach is no surprise. They are an arcane collective of all the houses and have coffers accordingly vast. Kal's aristocratic appearance and especially his obvious dragonmark paves the way easily, and no one contests your group as you climb up the ramp to the central gate. Inside, a great hall boasts a large fountain carved in the shape of a two-headed dragon, an ancient numeral for '12' emblazoned on a talisman around its joint chest. Meanwhile, open arches pinwheel around the chamber. Carved above each are reliefs depicting the icons of each house: the chimera of House Deneith, the blink dog of House Ghallanda, the manticore of House Kundarak, the leviathan of House Lyrandar, and so on. From here, it quickly becomes clear that many services―even the more expensive, magical services―are available here. The Citadel of the Twelve seems to double as a surrogate enclave for those houses that don't otherwise have enclaves of their own in this city. Which is to say, all houses except Deneith, Jorasco, Lyrandar, Phiarlan, Tharashk, and Kundarak itself. House Cannith, while it does have plenty of interests in Forgelight, also maintains artificers and wizards here. They're the best equipped to buy and sell magic items. Rinti, once again, seems dazzled to even just be here. She stares left and right, and constantly over at anyone who looks like a guard, like she's expecting to be ousted at any moment. Tangat wags his tail and he sniffs in the direction of House Ghallanda's offices. _____________________________ A reminder about who the thirteen dragonmarked houses are.
There used to be thirteen houses for the thirteenth dragonmarks, but the House of Death was wiped out centuries ago. The fact that there are still thirteen dragonmarked houses stems from House Thuranni, of the elven Mark of Shadow, which splintered away from House Phiarlan.

"Streko, I have learned all these fancy tricks from Sem, but it would seem I cannot do much without the right materials. Having never needed to acquire them before, I defer to your wisdom for which ones to purchase."

Condign gazes at the collection of buildings and shops. There is even another statue--what city would need more than one statue, anyway? So much wealth concentrated in so small an area. And so unlike his homeland . . . unless you can barter with fire and dust and pain.
"I doubt there is anything here I could afford," says Condign. "I am content to accompany you to your shops." He grins. "But do not expect me to carry any packages for you."

Within half an hour, after a short wait and then after being directed by some administrative staff, you find yourself in a spacious sub-basement lined on all sides with workshop tables and weapon racks. Guards hailing from House Deneith, House Kundarak, and House Cannith man every other table and each of the room's three exits. Two Cannith-insignia warforged circle in patrol; the right forearm of each has been replaced with an axe blade.
In this room, masterwork and magical arms are being bought and sold. While you are escorted to a table and assigned a Cannith mage, you see several other parties here as well. Mostly dragonmarked affiliates, but also a pair of clean-cut, uniformed mercenaries you learn are part of a group called the Blackwheel Company. You're too far away from any of them to eavesdrop.
"What can I help you with, my lords?" your Cannith mage says, stifling a yawn. He looks like his stationing here is a punishment.
-------------------------------
Ok! We can handle out-of-character stuff here in the main thread, to make this faster. Just keep the text, as usual, in pink.
If there's something you're looking to buy, just ask. I'm not going to post a list, just as the Cannith mage doesn't display everything available but can advise you on what is.
If you have anything you do want to consider selling, name it here. As a general rule, you can sell for half the market value. Joe, I highly recommend you check Streko's haversack on your character sheet. Some stuff there you can definitely sell to grow the party's bank pool.
And you can buy as much gp-worth of ritual components as you need.

25 = Belarin 20 = i 17 = Shorak 17 = Adamant 5 = mystery men_______________________________ The shadows melt away from Belarin as he moves quickly to the nearest apartment door. He grasps the handle, finds it locked, and quickly rifles through his pockets to produce his thieves' tools. He's never had to pick a lock before with fire rushing in at him, but he manages to pull it off. With a click, the locks opens and he turns the knob, pushing inward. He glimpses an unoccupied, mostly empty apartment— And then feels a sharp, stinging jab in the back of his shoulder. Virulent pain courses through his back and arm, and he feels his own warm blood leaking out of the sudden wound. Cognizant of the pain and a small, winged black shape behind him, in almost the same instant, a flare of psychic power radiates out of the human's fey-backed mind in an attempt to harm his assailant, but it's too wild to focus its power. Unaware of Belarin's new attacker, Shorak hurries down into the stairwell, grasping with one hand at the rail to keep from falling on the slick fluid which slicks the whole damned thing. He stays ahead of the spreading fire... Adamant now sees Belarin's new attacker, and Belarin gets an eyeful as well: a diminutive humanoid about two feet in height, flapping madly about in the air and hissing with shrill laughter. Its skin is shiny black and red, its features generally diabolic, but it's moving so quickly it's hard to get a good look at it. Bat wings keep it afloat. And while this one looks a bit different than the last one he's seen, Belarin has encountered an imp before! In fact, in Shadowcrest Manor, serving Alvek ir'Turien. But Adamant knows he's still got the other man to deal with, so he readies himself... • Belarin opens the lock. • Belarin's sudden retaliation kicks in: Eyebite (1d20+8=10) (miss) • Assailant's attack vs. Belarin's AC: 28 +2 (advantage) = 30 (hit) / 10 damage to Belarin / Secondary attack vs. Belarin's Fortitude: 20 (hit) / Belarin takes ongoing 5 poison damage and is slowed (save ends both). • Adamant readies an action (holy strike). The fire continues to spread throughout the hall, closing in on Belarin and already washing over Adamant and both cloaked men. They both grunt with rapturous pain. "You will die, you will burn!" the skinnier, glyphed one shrieks out as Shorak disappears down the stairs. He pursues, running down the stairs after Shorak but remaining too far behind to catch him. His cloak is alight with flame. The other stranger merely charges Adamant. But Adamant strikes him first, cutting through cloth and flesh with a blade blazing with sun-white light. The stranger cries out from the warforged's unexpected speed and power, then finishes his own charge. But both his weapon and shoulder crash uselessly against Adamant's shield. Adamant feels the fire licking at him now, heating his body, but he also feels the disk in his chest pulse with power, instantly cooling his body in an attempt to counter it. • Adamant's readied attack (holy strike) vs. stranger #1's AC: (1d20+12=24) (hit) / (1d8+9=14) radiant damage • Stranger #1's attack vs. Adamant's AC: 21 (miss) • Fire's attack vs. stranger #1's Reflex: 15 (miss) • Fire's attack vs. Adamant's Reflex: 25 (hit) / 1 point of fire damage to Adamant • Adamant's disk of energy resistance activates; he has resistance 5 to fire until the end of the encounter Refresh image. ____________________________ Dave B.: Is Shorak basically making a b-line for the front door? Or does he want to stay and fight the pursuing guy? The oily substance seems to be running a trail from the 3rd floor down the stairwell and to the ground floor.

Team BBelarin tries to shake off the poison that he knows is coursing through his veins right now. He recalls the deceptive threat that creatures like this can pose, despite their size. "Redoubt!" he calls out. "Through the door this way! And watch out for the scrawny winged bastard behind you!" Staring maliciously at the imp, he slowly backs into the empty apartment -- not having to feign Nerrin's limp at the moment. "OH YES, I'm addressing you, worthless imp!" he taunts, moving still further into the apartment. "In the sea of devils, your kind is a shrimp!" He thrusts out the wand and releases a burst of rage-fueled energy. _____________________________________ Move: Shift 1 square west into the apartment. Minor: Place warlock's curse on the imp. Belarin spends an Action Point. Move: 2 squares farther into the apartment, in whatever direction brings him closer to a window. Belarin regains concealment from Shadow Walk. It's not much, but Belarin wants the imp to follow him inside so that Adamant will have more room to maneuver. If that movement would put Belarin out of sight of the imp, he'll use the Action Point after attacking. Standard: Attack the imp with eyebite vs. Will: 1d20+7=22. If Prime Shot applies, add +1. Damage: 1d6+4=9, plus 1d6=5 for warlock's curse + 1 for Empowering Shadows = total 15 psychic damage, and Belarin is invisible to the imp until the start of his next turn. Save to shake off slowed and poisoned effects: 1d20=8. Fail. If any enemy dies this round, Belarin immediately teleports to the closest window. Jeff: Would retrieving the candle of night be considered a minor action?

Team B
Shorak runs down the stairs, being careful of the slick steps. He hears glyphman following, but knows the human won't be able to catch up to him easily. "Come on then, if you want to die so badly." Shorak yells up the stairs.
Shorak will continue down the stairs to the ground floor. If he continues to be pursued, he'll stop there and make a ranged attack. I assume that will take at least a couple of rounds. Let me know when to start rolling.

Team KKal stands with his hands on his hips, taking in the scene. He nods, though it is unclear who it is meant for. "Streko, I have learned all these fancy tricks from Sem, but it would seem I cannot do much without the right materials. Having never needed to acquire them before, I defer to your wisdom for which ones to purchase." Streko nods. "I will do what I can to help you. I think I would like to go over with you things we can sell, or perhaps barter, so that we don't necessarily have to spend ALL of our own money. I am sure there are things in my haversack I can get rid of. I would like your opinion before I do so, however." He reaches in and pulls out a whetstone. "From the Atoll." His eyebrows rise and he smiles. "Which reminds me..." He reaches back in and comes up with a wand. Or is it a rod? He mumbles to himself. "I can never tell the difference. Where's Belarin when you need him." Streko hands these two items to Kal. Reaches back in and frowns slightly. He then removes the haversack and places it on the ground next to him. He reaches in with both hands and drags out some leather armor. "My old suit! I'm sure I can sell this for a gold or two. Or three. I wish I had a gnome's sense of worth. Then again, nevermind that thought." He opens up the neck of the sack and peers in, as if looking for something specific. He smiles and reches in for the jade griffin figurine. Looks around suspiciously and returns the figurine to the haversack. "I'm keeping that." One final "look-through." Streko is positive he sees absolutely nothing in the bag, but he's searching his memory of the contents more than the empty blackness inside. "I believe that is all I am willing to part with at this time, Kal. Of course, if you believe we may have need of any of these items, by all means, please, tell me and I shall store it back in my haversack." Streko replaces the haversack securely across his back, rolls his shoulders and smiles at his friends. "What do you think?"

Team B"it's getting warm in here, and still you haven't said your name." Adamant tries to maneuver under less than ideal circumstances. "I will still permit you to leave though my patience has limits." once again the sword slices forward. "Bel...Nerrin, are you alright back there?" ------------ At Beginning of Round: Stranger #1 Challenged
Minor Action: if Belarin didn't save vs the ongoing 5/slow then Adamant will toss a Divine Mettle at Belarin to give him a fresh save with a +4 bonus.
Standard Action: repetitive, i know... But Wow! The roller loves me this week. Holy Strike vs AC (1d20+12=31) Raidient damage (1d8+6=13) since I have him challenged, I add my WIS, so that's actually 16 hp.
Move Action: if the imp let's me I'll shift back 1 sq. If he's still there I guess I'm stuck.
At End of Round: Stranger #1 still Challenged

Kal holds the whetstone and rod in his hands, considering them, testing their weight.
_______________ Do we know what these things do?

Team K"A helm?" The Cannith mage regards Condign with some interest and looks to his horns. "We just may..." ___________________________________________ The mage returns with a nonmagical helmet, yes, shaped for a tiefling, with an opening for a male tiefling's great horns. 5 gp, if Condign wants it. But the mage also returns with a helmet that looks to be shaped for a non-tiefling yet has a pair of curling, smaller horns on the side. But the mage demonstrates its use by placing it atop Condign's head...and the horns on the helm immediately shift further back and openings appear to accommodate his own. A magic helm.
Horned Helm This horned helmet increases the damage you deal when making a charge attack. Lvl 6 Property: Your charge attacks deal 1d6 extra damage. Cost: 1,800 gp
The mage also brings Kal a small ceramic hand intricately carved for ritual purposes (cost 25 gp) and 160 gp worth of alchemical reagents. Both have been deducted from the bank.
Kal holds the whetstone and rod in his hands, considering them, testing their weight. _______________ Do we know what these things do? Nope. They've never been really examined. But the Cannith mage can identify them readily enough.
Augmenting Whetstone (Level 11) This rough sharpening stone temporarily grants your weapon a magical enhancement. Consumable: Whetstones Power Consumable (Minor Action): Touch this whetstone to a melee or ranged weapon you hold. The weapon gains a +2 enhancement bonus on attack rolls and damage rolls until the end of the encounter. Cost to sell: 175 gp
And actually, I believe that's the rod that was given to Condign. He knows what that does.
Don't forget there were some items in that chest from the bottom of the sea...

Kal considers the whetstone, then hands it back towards Condign without turning around. "You should hold onto this," he says.
Placing the reagents into his own pack, Kal's hand finds the glasteel shard from the Red Atoll. He closes his eyes for a moment, but feels no real resonance from the item. Placing it on the counter he asks, "What would you give me for this?"
_______________________ If Streko wants to keep the whetstone, that's fine, but I think it would be better for Condign or Adamant, and since the latter isn't here right now....
Jeff, I'll sell that shard if we can get a good price for it. No one, including Kal, has any force based powers so it's not doing us much good.
Did the mage just ignore Kal's question about the coin?
Who has the items from the chest?
