Kal:
"Just be careful who you try to impress there," Larest says. "In some places, it's best to go unnoticed."
Shorak:
Belarin:
Larest seems unsure. "There are, of course, many faerie tales that come out of this land since the ancient days. But I'm not familiar with them."
"The jungles have more inhabitants than the desert," Sem interjects. "And I would think the fey would prefer the dense rain forests than the dry desert. But then again, there are such things as desert and mountain fey. I'd say, you could go either way on this one. Both regions were bound to be troubled by pixies at some point." The gnome shrugs. "Actually, you know what? I've heard numerous rumors of twig blights and even savage dryads out there in the jungles. Maybe you should favor Pra'Xirek with your fey references."
Condign:
"There's virtually nothing innocuous on this whole continent. They don't call it the Shattered Land for no reason. The Hydra is certainly one way of traveling faster, in theory, and some natives can be found transporting visitors along its waters by boat, but those rivers swim with all kinds of deadlies."
Belarin:
"I can do that. Though I generally prefer to go unseen."
Adamant:
Sem laughs. But Larest answers with a smile. "No indeed, Adamant. If there is a Unicorn Run out there somewhere, it's up to you to find it."
"The Obsidian City, another old ruin, is affiliated with fire giants," Sem says more seriously. "Not always...but, sometimes. Maybe best circumvented. Most go around it when heading out into the wilds."
When talk starts to die down, Larest breathes out a sigh. "I recommend getting a good sleep tonight."
Indeed, Captain Morsha has announced that she'll wait until morning to bring the ship into port. As much as a quiet, stealthy night-time berth would be preferable, her resources are at their strongest during the day. She believes the Merrow will be more inconspicuous docking amid the bustle of the morning."

Belarin's maps are nearly complete, but even with the preferred inks, he needs access to more variety. If he can find some in Stormreach, he can touch up and finalize his maps in just a couple of hours' time.
My next gameplay thread: Chapter 10 begins.
"I really want to make an impression on the good folks of Stormreach."
"Just be careful who you try to impress there," Larest says. "In some places, it's best to go unnoticed."
Shorak:
"Oh, do not worry about me. The more traditional Drow in me will be much more prominent once I'm walking the streets of my home again."
Belarin:
"Which of the two areas is more associated with fey lore?" he asks. "That'll determine which map gets the maximum Thelanis treatment."
Larest seems unsure. "There are, of course, many faerie tales that come out of this land since the ancient days. But I'm not familiar with them."

"This waterway. It is called "The Hydra..."

Belarin:
"Happy for the assistance, Sem," Belarin answers. "One of my false identities is a researcher for House Orien, so having a gnome at my side won't hurt the illusion. Make yourself look... fancy.
"I can do that. Though I generally prefer to go unseen."
Adamant:
"None of the places you mention sounds particularly hospitable, Professor."
